Replacing belts on cassette players is something very special for me personally. I know that a smartphone will outperform any portable cassette ever made. If it has a lot of hiss, plays too slow or sounds warbled it doesn't matter. You used your beautiful hands to get that old player working again. There is a certain pride in using an audio cassette in this modern day age of digital streaming services. You can hold it and show it off unlike a streamed file. It is 100% yours.

It is very rewarding to bring vintage tech back to life. You're right about having a tangible thing for music, it's the same with vinyl records, it's much more satisfying to hold and see all the info like lyrics and credits and pictures, it's much engaging. Thanks for the support

The weird sound at high volume sounds like distortion. The electrolytic capacitors might need replacing. I'm looking into a portable cassette recorder and saw that model at a reasonable price online, and looking for reviews I found your video.

Hi! Do you happen to know the measurement of that replacement belt? I'm looking to buy a generic belt bc the specific one is not available in my country. Thanks

i measured the belt and it has a diameter of 35mm and a thickness of 1mm. Sorry for the late response, hope this helps!

is the belt tight enough? Sometimes even if you replace the belt, it can be too big and not turn it enough
