In this video i go over how to change your gear oil in your front differential, rear differential, and transfer case on a 2007 Toyota Tundra 4.7. Check your manual to see what oil your manual recommends some of the Tundras are different.
Thank you very much for watching and God bless

Okay so I usually do not comment on people's videos because it's just not my thing. However, I wanted to let you know I really enjoyed learning from this video & to say thank you very much for taking the time to make it and doing a great job explaining the WHAT'S & WHY'S! I recently acquired a 2007 Toyota tundra from my husband & am having to repair/replace things by myself & unfortunately he did not do a good job at all with keeping up the basic maintenance such as oil change, engine coolant, tire rotation, etc. No matter how much I reminded him.😤 Anyway, before I even think about putting the truck on the road I know I better go through it with a fine tooth comb the best I can & I'm thankful I am because there was basically no fluids in the truck! When I say no fluid I mean no oil ,no engine coolant ,no brake fluid, ect & the only reason why it's out of everything is just simply due to him being neglectful and lazy about having the truck maintained. It's sad to say but he used to be a manager at a service department so he definitely knows better! I haven't noticed any oil on the ground where something might be leaking around the differential however I did notice that when I put the truck into reverse to back it into my parking spot and then put the truck into park there is a single clunk sound when going from reverse into Park so if it is a differential issue hopefully it hasn't gotten too bad at this point and I just need to replace a couple of things or just simply need to replace the oil but I do know that the clunking sound is definitely not good & I am more than likely going to be looking at a bigger issue I just hope I'm not going to have to replace the whole rear end.

Thanks for your excellent video jim. I just bought a 223 k mile 2007 sequoia limited 4.7 and need to refresh all the fluids inc at least a trans drain and fill.. so your video is super helpful. I hope my sequoia is very similar to your tundra. Any chance you could do at least a drain and trans fill ?? I know to get the correct fluid level you need to watch the trans temp closely. Appreciate it scott... Hey amsoil is great. But would it be better to use mobil 1 GL 5 or similar and do the fluids more often instead of super expensive fluids ??
@DIYJIM

I would see what the toyota trans fluid cost. You can drain and fill the exact amount back in just have to do it a few times go for a quick spin in between drains. Thanks for watching

Do yo i Grady the bottom of your vehicle with anything? I assume you live where it snows since you do pellet stove vids. That truck is in remarkable shape for being 13 years old. I'm actually looking at getting a tundra myself and most Tundras of this vintage look like hell lol.

I try to touch up the bottom every year and I run it through a car wash that sprays the bottom about once a month in the winter. Also it only has around 120000 miles. Thanks for the comment hope you have many good years with your Tundra. I live in PA

So I've heard guys actually saying that this maintenance improves mpg when changing to amsoil in front and rear diffs as well as transfer case. Is this just bullshit, or did notice any improvement in mpg?

I’m not sure I have not check since I changed. If I remember my next fill up I will check. My guess is that it is not going to make much of a difference but I will check. I changed mine because I plan on putting 200000 on my truck. Thanks for watching hope you liked the video I made.
