I used to replace orangeburg all the time when I was plumbing. I like your content it’s good stuff. I have seen in several of your videos you primer or glue the pipe then try to fiddle with while you prime the fitting. I always prime or glue the fitting first before you can set it down without getting dirt in the glue why you glue the pipe.

Nice job. Funny to see soil without huge stones in it 😅. I have a load of clay pipe here. During the building I ran a new pvc line from a new bathroom to it. Dug down 6ft by hand and missed the line by a few feet so had to start again. Eventually found it, but left a friend tie it in 😅. Keep em coming buddy 🙂👍

Fanstastic video! your back at work bro, does that mean your health has improved some? I have never seen pipe like that before, here we have all pvc (the bigger ones are just concrete) and for outside/underground code requires to put a pvc that has thicker walls then normal, their all color coded, orange goes outside and gray goes inside. You did a good job pulling that pipe out of there, i was sure you need to remove the concrete walkway, clever thinking right there buddy. Hope to see more videos like these in the future.

Hey ants thanks for watching!! This job was for a friend of mine who owns the house ( the guy in the vid) he got some extreamly high quotes for the work and asked if I could please help him out and he said he will do all the hard work do to my health, I told him if I had a day or two that i didn’t feel as bad I would help him out, so that’s what we did, I’m still not working full time I’m mainly doing stuff for friends or relatives/family. I have found there isn’t really a cure for it so I’m trying to deal with it the best I can some days aren’t as bad and other days are miserable, i try and keep a smile on my face and thank the lord im still alive and try to have hope of getting back to normal 🙂 thank you for all your help and support!!

I have really come to enjoy all of your videos and seeing some of the breadth of your skillset. I sorry you're not feeling better and I'm sending my prayers your way. I'm wondering if that degree of slope compromises the lubrication of the excavator engine. I have read that greater than 30 degrees is to be avoided. I have a John Deere 35 D mini and am worried I may damage it when pulling out cattails from my pond with a fairly steep slope. What do you think? Should I use mats under the front of the tracks to level it off? Having said that, I've seen plenty of excavators on hillsides with nothing used to improve the level angle. Kind Regards, Craig

It's literally just a roll of felt paper. I've dealt with it for years and years. I've seen it inside of walls of homes it never has an issue but as soon as it goes into the ground it's toast. This stuff was used because of the shortage of metals during the War.

You could have fixed that pipe with some more paper and tar and maybe some feathers. The trick is to not grow trees. Problem solved. What were they thinking?!?!? Been there, done that. There is a big business for fixing that throughout the U.S. I believe alot of those pipes happened in the 50's. Do you think what we are replacing them with is enough?
