I noticed a while back that I had a lot of grease on the inside of my wheel. I also noticed some popping in the front end of the Yukon. I know the cv shaft or cv axle was broken and needed replaced. I am sure that the upper ball joint stud is the reason. When you lower a 4x4 or 4wd yukon tahoe or escalade you have to trim off the upper ball joint stud for clearance. In this video I show you how to replace the cv shaft or cv axle. You can replace the boot but if any water or dirt was inside you will have issues. I think it is best to replace the entire cv shaft. I also only like to use a GM replacement part as they seem to be the best quality replacement. This isn't a hard job and any diy guy or girl can do this in a driveway. Save yourself some money and replace it yourself. I include all the torque specs for doing the replacement also. If you have popping when you turn or notice the cv boot is broken and grease is on everything, it is time to replace the cv axle. This same replacement process will work on silverado and seirra from 2007 - 2018. They use the same cv shaft and specs. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......
