After more than 20 years, the old Land Rover Defender 110 window could use a BADASS upgrade. So in this video, I remove the old one and installed a new window from Explore Glazing, which is much better! I decided to replace the sliding window with a half-drop window. I also got a window guard. I will tell you in the video why!

Think I'd have tried the exterior guard thingy with the original sliding window first. What is the point of the drop window?

The finished result is great. I assume the window and the metal guard are from two different suppliers? You would think that you'd be able to buy both items from the same manufacturer/seller so that you didn't have to do all the drilling with the potential of damaging stuff in the process. Are you doing the same to the other side of the Landy?

Thank you man! The half-drop window and the window guard are from the same company, but it's an option so they sell them separately. Maybe the can install it for you but where's the challenge in that 😄 I'm going to install a Gullwing on the rear right side, you can see it in the video 😉

I have same halfdrop Windows for over two years and it perfect. Windows guard is not needed in my opinion, and i tend to bash my car in a rough place. For security reasons you can drop it Just one click, still will have ventilaton but no hand could slip in

Cool, you're happy with yours!! So, we agree with what I said in the video. Ventilation is the primary reason for installing the window guard. Protecting the glass is an extra 😎

@@HaveFunAndGo Will the new glass break with an automatic centre punch? Only eight screws to remove the metal guard. A Thief could be in and out very quickly.
