The 7 year old battery in your console probably doesn’t last more than 1/4th of its original capacity, which was underwhelming to begin with. In this video, I show you how to spend less than 15$ to increase the battery capacity to around 10-15 hours. Don’t spend money on those over priced kmd or oem batteries that have been old and sitting around for years on a shelf rotting away.
Buy a battery that is no more than 11mm tall 3.7v lipo cell an solder 2 wires and you are good to go :)
Edit I did a test. At 7 hours the battery began to blink. I turned off and in order to turn back on I needed to plug in charger for the boot up, but once I did I played another 2 hours and it was still blinking.
High volume 3 brightness it lasted 9 hours and is still going. It’s hard to say how much longer it will last since it has been blinking for 2 hours, but for sure if I’d played with no rumble no sound, it would have likely 30-60 more minutes along with increased life if I turn brightness down another level.
To answer why it wouldn’t boot up at first, it’s likely that it didn’t have enough power to turn the entire device on, since bootup requires more energy, but had enough power to keep playing.
All in all, I paid 9.50 for this battery replacement and it fairs much better than the original or the old stock batteries they are selling. If you buy it from AliExpress I bet you could find one for cheaper, since I used express shipping to get it faster. I think it’s worth it.
