The Jade Plant is a succulent and one of the most common house plants for good reasons. Eventually you will need to to repot your Jade. Come take a look.

I received a 37 year old Jade plant from a friend 2 years ago and I gave it a huge purning and it took off like crazy. Love your plant

That’s encouraging to hear, as my Jade got Mealybugs this winter so I’ve taken it outside for the summer. I plan on giving it a huge pruning too.

why didn't you remove the old compost from around the roots before repotting? It looks like it needs a hard prune.

Perhaps I should have. I’ve just never been one to disturb the roots much when upgrading house plants. I’ve recently moved it outside to get it some brighter summer light, and I plan on giving it a hard prune soon.

I have an EXTREMELY large jade that I need to repot but I don't want to break off the branches as you stated. It's extremely top heavy and very wonky. I noticed you don't have a water catcher under that pot. What is the reason for that?

I added a saucer under it after the video shoot. I just did not have one available the day of.

@@gardenhike That's one of my biggest complaints about watching TV shows where they'll set somebody up with a bunch of herbs or whatever and there's no water saucers. It's like well, Where do they expect that water's going to go? Lol 😆

Is it there a specific reason why you did not prune it? It's so beautiful though♡

Funny, even though I prune shrubs outside all the time, it never even crossed my mind 😊. I guess it seemed to be looking less and less healthy over the last couple of years so I thought fresh soil would help perk it up. I needed a KZfaq topic too 😊.
