Worked just as you said it would with one exception. When I was done entering my codes my garage door would open after entering just one digit. So in order to fix this problem I started this whole process over again, but this time I did it with the door completely DOWN. Then I turned to your instructions and it worked perfectly! Thank you so much- you are a life saver and I hope that I was able to help someone else out. BYW- my unit was a Chamberlain and the unit code was a (three).

Thank you I was missing the part about letting your garage close all the way. Purple button code: 3 After you press the learn button then enter your code again. LET THE GARAGE CLOSE ALL THE WAY. Then enter your code and it will work. My issue was i didnt let it close all the way. So the code wasn't programming. Let the garage close before you hit another button.

Yes! For those of us who "inherited" a keypad without an enter button. Seldom have I have been so fond of the number 6 - which happens to be my keypad. Now to locate a remote that will also work.

Mine is a green button and the number I had to press was 3.

Great, I tried number 5, but didn't work. Now, every button I touch just makes the entire pad flicker fast. Holding start and pound does not reset the clicker now 😞. Now I know my code number is 3, but cannot start over, seems like. Update: after waiting a few minutes, I was able to start over with the process successfully...

What’s red button or orange garage type number

Now, my remote for the opener that's in the vehicle won't open the garage door.. somehow it programmed one and unprogrammed the other

I have a lift master 8500. I think the “learn” button is the yellow button, though there is a black button above it, too. The manual does not specify which of these is the learn button and it doesn’t say what the code is for the motor. Anyone else out there figure out how to do it with the lift master 8500?
