Gripped by drought, Northern California's Taylor Creek was dry as a bone on 9/27/21. Tons of wild trout were trapped and salmon couldn't get up to spawn. And then a funny thing happened...‪@fishwithjd‬ takes you on tour...

Pretty cool. I think all sport fishers should belong to some kind of group. Whether it’s CCA, NW Steelheaders, NCGASA…etc… strength in numbers 💪

Nope....opens in late May and closes Oct. 1

Great work! Just signed up. Have been fishing the lake this summer wondering what the koke were going to do this season. I think Trout creek is also dry. Thanks for putting in the work!

Thanks! Yep...kokes are gonna have it rough. I'm not so sure there's enough water in Taylor to breach the lagoon but we'll see...

Is Taylor creek land tribal or blm, people are saying private homes are being built up and down this creek.

There are no homes on it. USFS land mostly I believe.

@@fishwithjd someone on youtube was saying the creek was dry and homes were being built up and down the creek, this very thing is happening on so many creeks in the central sierra "which is my area" it's just sad.

Really sad. I wouldn't be surprised. The whole Tahoe area is being overdeveloped. Then the homeowners try to restrict access to "their" trails and public lands. I'm a local and I love walking on the Taylor Creek trails.

@@sierranevadahiker4440 Yeah all true. The creek has a tiny bit flowing down it this year. Oct 1 is when the USFS normally opens the dam at Fallen Leaf to release water for salmon so we'll see...
