That was very very helpful. Thanks very much! What month did you remove the leaves? I’m assuming in July? If you got the tree in September what would you do differently? If it was a “one flush” tree, like beech or hornbeam, would you have given it the same treatment?

Yellowing can be from ph to if the ph is too alkaline they can't pull up nutrients and get deficiencies I've had that problem alot in south Florida

You are absolutely right! There are so many more reasons why leaves yellow. Wind could also be the cause of yellowing, and browning leaves.

Hi Jerome. I have a bonsai question for you. My gf and I are new to bonsai and her Syzygium paniculatum is having some trouble. The new leaves are a bright green and look healthy while other leaves are a darker green and are curling up and falling off. What am I doing wrong? I have it indoors and under a grow light. Thanks for listening :)

Hi there I have a question about adeniums. I live on the east coast of Canada and although our days are still warm the nights are cold now. I bring the rose in at night and back out for the day. However, we can get snow as early as September around here so I have some questions. 1). When I bring the rose in should I change the soil? 2). Do I fertilize over the winter where it’s in the house? 3). Where it’s quite dark here over the winter should I use a heat lamp and if so what type?, 4). I making it into a bonsai so can I repot it now or should I wait til the spring? Thanks Kim🇨🇦

Hi Kim, those are all great questions! 1.) no repotting required, or switching the soil. Always repot tropical trees in the summer when it is nice and hot. 2.) If it continues to grow, continue to fertilize, but watch the watering as you shouldn't water more than once a month in the winter. 3.)Yes, I recommend HPS lights at least 600 watts. we have them on our amazon store, here is a link :www.amazon.com/shop/wearethebonsaisupply 4.) Repot Tropical trees in the Summer.

Hi there and thank you for answering so quickly. Is it ok if I do repot because it’s going to be a bonsai or should I wait til the spring?

some nurseries even have a "one the way out section" which means heavy discounted prices! I know at the big box stores like Home depot you can get 10-20% off on sick plants. That is if you can find them :)

You actually put insecticide on your trees once a month? I hope you've got good insurance because if you don't end up with cancer it'll be a miracle. I'm surprised birds and bees don't fall out of the sky when they fly over your yard! Not even Florida has that many bugs. And FYI, poisoned bugs poison the birds and spiders that eat them.
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, once a month during the growing season. Wear gloves, and mask, and you should be fine. If you do continued spraying there will be no more insects on your trees, it acts like a barrier. FYI, the vegetables, and fruits you eat are doused in insecticide and pesticide, and even wax!
