With all due respect to CW5 Mack nobody but Luttrell agrees with his version of events. Multiple Rangers on the Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) mission who found Luttrell have stated the same story: >he was found by Rangers >a green beret medic helped a ranger medic give Luttrell a check up >luttrell was shot through the butt but otherwise cognizant and ambulatory >there was no attack on the Salar Ban, the village holding Luttrell during the entire CSAR >he had his full combat load of 11 magazines full of ammunition >he walked to the chopper under his own power Dr. Josh Appel, a former PJ, and current MD was on the chopper that picked up Luttrell. He said there was ZERO GUNFIRE AND BOMBS being dropped during luttrell's evacuation. The Green Beret medic, Travis Osborn, who assisted a Ranger during Luttrell's checkup also told a version of events that matched the Rangers' story. No gunfire, no explosions, Rangers found Luttrell first. etc, etc. The Rangers who checked out Luttrell were not impressed with him. They claim that Luttrell treated them poorly, that he could not tell them a single thing about the location of the ambush or even the SEALs basic patrol area. Luttrell didn't know where the bodies of Lt. Murphy and GM2 Dietz were located. And he wasn't sure if Axelson was alive or not. Green Beret Sargent Major Michael Adams, in an article for SOFREP, claims that Luttrell could've been charged with multiple violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice for his actions on June 28th, 2005

People need to stop blaming Luttrell for his version of events. In a ambush situation, things aren’t going according to your training, and after the facts, things aren’t as clear as they appear. Also remember the fact that in Special Ops every soldiers are trained to give false information during a POW situation. The people that come rescue you could be wearing US military uniforms, so Luttrell had to be smart and made sure that they were indeed US Army Rangers. It’s part of the SERE course. Luttrell wasn’t lying about where his teammates were, he was protecting them from possible enemies in disguise US military uniforms.

You know what i think? I think good dudes whomever they were were sent it for buruaecratic reason, few different factions, for sure 1 chinook, 2 man mortar team,1 for the lhmbc and the other gun. Now 2 mortars with 2 81 systems is a stupid fucking idea. Thats like having half of a pilot with a loaded down rear compartment, overweight like hell. With army infantry generals being pushed out over the years, and navy or air force all of a sudden making army and marine infantry obsolete? Your out of goddam minds, the only other i ever seen was marines infantry, usually way out in the middle of nowwhere, kinda like us. Im talking about a ganky mission in 2011, or, a month or 2 before the bin laden thing. As a matter of fact, i remember a "retaliation attack" mentioned the day before the obl ordeal. I remember thinking "what the hell makes you mention that"? see now. The military are not smart enough to know their top leadership are just politicians, sorry, its the truth and you know it. Regardless, i dont recall anyone on that chinook helping me drag like 700 lbs of rounds and baseplates/bipods/81 tubes on a skidco. It wasnt my mission or how i would have done it. We were just told nothing and get ready to drag all that for about 7 or 8 clicks, so like an hour of dragging that much shit lol Rolling rocky hills just rows of them, all the way to a small little compound/clott. it was a stupid mission with people popping up at odd times, while those dudes were out and about. it was probably 1 or the other not knowing. I dont know what came of that mission, i dont remember leaving, only getting there and being there for a week or so. holy sht i cannot remember how we left. We would of brought me and the e6 back to fob connolly, the cook had some big tits and it was about the same as any fob lol these dudes were all like six foot 2 ish, no poges, all neat and not normal infantry. Maybe px rangers or something, no way in hell any goddam human of any kind would think less of my gunning skills. Buddy, i can get expert on the 120 by myself! so whoever spoke shit on mortars, homeboy id blow you off the earth in a firefight(less it was very close range and you had me)other than that, youd only have 20 seconds before your soul got blown out or your ears got blown out, leading to 1 outcome. Me not having to lug so many rounds back! we all know what happens when 11bs pinned,"wheres the mortar"! And im thinking in my head, dude, this is the only reason im here, is to blow up some bad guys. Untouchable with the 60 handheld, assault pak+7 rounds he, shit, your pride would be gone.
