Interesting enough, despite Michael Madsen (Mr. Blonde) acting like a deranged sociopath in the film, I read in the trivia section on IMDb that he had a lot of difficulty doing the torture scene. Tarantino apparently told the actor playing the officer, to think of something to say that will convince Blonde to not burn him alive; which he did by bringing up having a kid. Madsen had recently become a father IRL and emotionally broke down, needing to take a break from filming the scene. Also according to IMDb, the driver who shoots Mr. Orange was Roth's dialect coach for the movie; who was very hard on him. So Roth insisted she play the woman for him to release frustration by shooting her, or something. And it's through the Reservoir Dogs video game that Mr. Blue was chased into a theater and shot down by police. It's very interesting to look up these interesting facts about cinema pieces online. Adds a lot to the whole experience.

@@sanchezproductions87 It’s kind of good. Gameplay is fun enough once you get used to it. Had a repetitive bullet time/kill cam though and for some reason there’s no blood during killcams but the shooting is fun. The story fills in all the pieces of the movie following each person’s journey and is told in the same unchronological way as the movie. Voices and writing are good too.

Michael Madsen does indeed play Bill's brother in Kill Bill, AND the character he plays in this movie (Vic Vega) is the brother of Travolta's character (Vincent Vega) in Pulp Fiction. There was at some point loose talks about making a movie about the Vega brothers (set before the events in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction of course), but now so much time has passed that obviously it would have to be two different actors, which would kind of defeat the point I think

Great movie, psychologically speaking. The perception of young talents like Tarantino is very fresh and out of the box. I grew up in the USSR, we had a lot of psychological and dramatic films. Of course, we did not allow such a level of violence in films, censorship was quite strict. But as for psychological exercises, we had enough of this in abundance. For example, "Friend Among Strangers, Stranger Among Friends" by Nikita Mikhalkov, with a deep psychology, though of a different plan, with the lack of minimalism of a one-room action movie, and a lower concentration of violence..

I also love your commentary on Tarantinos dialogue. I loved how in this movie Tarantino made the commode story so immersive, e.g., him telling the cops in a bathroom scene in first person while they are standing there in the bathroom with him, plus the diner scene in the opening. He repeats this, albeit in different ways in other movies: -In Death Proof the scene at the diner with the stunt ladies -Pulp Fiction in the Jack Rabbit Slim scene with Travolta and Uma, or "HoneyBunny" and "Pumpkin" at the diner in the intro. - Inglorious Basterds with Hans Landa in the intro or him and Shosanna in the restaurant. -In True Romance, where Hopper is telling Walken about Italians The dialogue sucks you in, maybe because some people expect a slow burn but otherwise it is a trademark of his work that is also engaging regardless of context (they literally talk about big dicks and Madonna in this movie and you cant help but nod in acknowledging at his point or laugh). I could go on. Would love to throw recommends your way too.

23:50 - I saw Reservoir Dogs the week it opened and have seen it countless times since.....and yet I only just noticed that Tarantino slips in an homage to Lawrence Tierney (who plays Joe). Lawrence Tierney played John Dillinger in the fantastic gangster classic "Dillinger" (1943). So when he says "Dead as Dillinger", it's more than just a cool line. Tierney IS Dillinger......and in about 30 seconds, he IS going to be dead! That guy was CRAZY. Watch the special features documentary about the cast telling Lawrence Tierney stories; the episode of Seinfeld that he's on has an "Inside Looks" featurette where THEY tell crazy Lawrence Tierney stories.....and then go do some research where you'll get some REAL crazy stories about him. Love that guy. His old movies "Born To Kill" and "The Devil Thumbs A Ride" are great. (so is "Dillinger")

I've always thought pulp fiction was Quentin's homage to a couple of early Stanley Kubrick films, Dr strangelove, and The Killing! And a movie he named his production company after, A Band Apart. So I'm writing this to give u some pre pro tips, leading up to pulp fiction, so it's more about Quentin and his earlier credits, particularly reservoir Dogs! Before this, Tarantino had writing creds for Dusk til Dawn with George Clooney and True Romance! Which is a movie about himself being a video store clerk, but turning Hollywood fantasy! True Romance is action packed, completely unreal, and totally star studded! He also did co writing/directing with Robert Rodriguez on The Mariachi , with Antonio Banderas and Death proof, with Kurt Russell!! He often has dialogue heavy movies, and long segments in them, where actors seem to be out of character, and having a discussion in various life circumstances, like the breakfast scene here, or in reservoir Dogs, or the foot massage scene in Pulp Fiction here! Pro tips, Vic Vega from reservoir Dogs is Vince Vega's brother from pulp fiction! Eddie bunker as Mr Blue was a former Bank robber, who went to jail, and started writing crime stories, while in! Mr White put up 5 mil to get this movie made, so he could play Mr White! James Woods was up for either Mr White or Mr Pink roles, but his manager didn't give him the script. James fired him! Sam Jackson was supposed to play the role of the black dude undercover cop, but Tarantino said, wait im writing another part for you, which became Pulp Fiction! If u watch his movies, he uses the same actors over and over! Sam, harvey, Tim, and others, in several of his movies...Sam the most. This, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Hateful Eight, and a voice in Inglorious basterds. Nobody liked the Boss, most of the other actors wanted to beat his ass! He thought he was old school Hollywood royalty and above the other actors. Like several of his other movies, this is based on an old Japanese samurai story, about a group of samurai who get slaughtered in a revenge ploy. The few left realize, one of them is a traitor who tipped off a warlord. Also, search up, Reservoir Dogs posters....there are so many iconic shots from this movie, I have 4 posters as wall art! U may not like his language all the time, but in private moments, street level , homey folks, rednecks, the brothas on the corner, on the block, the crazy chicas....u know they be talkin to each other like this. The moral of this story? Always know the drugs u are about to take!😅 Also yes, Quentin has foot fetish! So in a way, Quentin lied...he daid he would only direct 10 movies. But if u add up movies he had a bit of writing or director time in, u have to add. True Romance, Death Proof, The Mariachi, and Dusk til Dawn. Pro tip....the OD shot scene, he has 2 board games on his table...life and operation! Since his 70s tv show, Welcome back Kotter, through every movie he did through the 2000s, Travolta always did a dance scene!

Yep, a young Michael Madsen and his voice wasn't even raspy yet ;P Mr. Blonde/Vic Vega is actually the brother of Vincent Vega, John Travolta's character in Pulp Fiction. A prequel movie called The Vega Brothers (Also heard The Vegas Brothers) was planned but it never happend because both Travolta and Madsen got too old for their roles. Another plan to make it was to both of them having twin brothers, but even that was a far fetched idea. The story could either be turned into a book or what I think, a hand drawn cartoon prequel movie in the style of the anime origin story of O-Ren from Kill Bill and the 1981 adult cartoon movie Heavy Metal. And there could be some Ralph Bakshi-esque moments in that movie too, now that's what I would love to see! And yes, have both Travolta and Madsen voice Vincent and Vic.

Very enjoyable. I feel like Arianna used to have more substance in her critiques, but it’s great if she’s just vibing more with the films of late.
