We’ve all had times when we feel stuck, lost or hopeless. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just hit the reset button? After losing both parents less than three months apart, then going through a hellish year of even more obstacles, speaker Fawn Germer felt desperate and depressed. She learned that there is a powerful (and simple) way to reboot. For her, it involved a 70-mile coastal beach trek. For you, it could be something completely different. Fawn shows how to reset whether you need a change in purpose, lifestyle, mindset or heart. Best-selling Oprah Book Author and International Leadership Speaker
Ranked 23rd on the Prestigious Global Gurus List of the
Best Leadership Speakers Worldwide. Fawn has interviewed more than 300 of the most accomplished leaders of our times, including Olympic athletes, CEOs, prime ministers, presidents, Academy Award winners and many other trailblazers who shared with her the secrets of true success. From them, she learned that success is born in risk, and power comes from the self-awareness that disables our doubt and self-esteem issues. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

My dad passed in September, my 5 year relationship ended in October. Which means i lost the home we had built together. I am moving to maine and giving my life a full reset, that just happens to be for the new year. I want to start walking, hiking, meditating, yoga, and eating close to the earth. I cant wait to move and be able to breathe, surrounded by less people and overwhelming energy

Amazing talk. It reminds me of when I felt like I was at the bottom of a metaphorical deep dark well after a terrible breakup with the person I thought I would be with forever. I remember I kept thinking “I’ll get to the other side.” But I knew I had a long way to go on my journey of healing. But to reassure myself I would remind myself constantly “when I get to the other side it’ll be okay.” Covid hit 6 months later when I was finally feeling a bit more like myself. But I pushed through and had a lot of time alone and it really did help to let go of all the distractions and just… be. To sit with the sadness and the anger and the loneliness. I sat with it long enough that the light started to shine through me again and I felt ready to be at peace and move on. And I got so caught up in life again once I was onto new things and two years had passed that it took me a while to realize I was on the other side

I LOVE THIS. These resets that’re supposed to give us back control over our lives end up just making us spiral! It can seem like changing everything at once is a great idea. It gives us the momentum we need to move forward. But, more likely, we just get overwhelmed with all the things we’re trying to get done. I think there’s a better way. Chipping away at our goals.

I did something like this at a different place. not down a beach but I did something like Forrest Gump. walked outside. decided I'm gonna change my life. and I needed to do something about who I was and how I was feeling. I'm not kidding about this but I walked about 50 miles took me from the beginning of the day to the night. then got a 80 dollar Uber home 😂

I'd like to hear how people go because I walked 375kms over 5 days 3 times, and I had no significant psychological change on any of the trips, if I learned one thing it was to just keep going and not find resistance against it in your mind, but that's simply an idea, I do think things like that every day. Ps. 70km a day is to much for the feet and dont walk with wet socks on, itl save you a lot of pain in the end. Keep the kms at 40 or less a day
