Well this one is pretty much right out of the box and requires little in the way of explanation but here is a list of what those service indicators mean.
A= Oil change
A1= Oil change, tire rotation, and inspection
B=Oil change, tire rotation, and inspections
B1=Oil change, tire rotation, and inspections
B2=Oil change, tire rotation,cabin filters, air filter, and inspections
B16=Oil change, tire rotation,cabin filters, air filter, changing fluids (trans/diff)and inspections
If you need more info it should be in your owners manual, honestly I had a heck of a time looking these up and pretty much did them from memory.

Just bought my step dads 2007 TL Type S. Love it and have been trying to get it off him since he bought it back in 2007! 98,000 miles so hope it stays strong for another 14 years

@Mopardude This car actually monitors the driving habits of the driver and adjusts the service schedule accordingly.

Off topic a lil but i needed a new Fob programed for my 2001 dodge durango and couldn't find any good info on the internet and the dealership wanted like $100 to program it. Then a few weeks ago i was changing my oil and while the oil was draining out i was reading the car manual. And behold there were the instructions for reprogramming the fob. ALWAYS read through the manual ! Will save you some cash.

@kuabara182 Fleet vehicles normally do last a long time as they get regular service, it makes a huge difference in how long a vehicle will last.

@theASEtech You might try unhooking the battery and touching the negative cable to the positive cable to see if that clears it out, if not you may still have an issue somewhere.

EricTheCarGuy hi I have 06 Acura to and I was changing the front brakes and some how the car fell of the jack stand which was the passenger side and now I have the brake light and vsa light on. Do you know what this means or what happened.

@EricTheCarGuy Thanks for the input, however disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery doesn't work. The '02 Maxima has something a little more complicated than that to reset the ECU. I found out what to do last night. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.

I've always assumed that these reminders are purely related to mileage since last reset. But, in some cars, is there some internal sensing mechanism to measure oil quality? I've also wondered if a dealer can scan the PCM and read how many times that reset button has been pressed. I guess it could be used as an electronic paper trail in case of bad maintenance leading to warranty claim....

@Compwhiz128 I believe that light comes on at a certain milage that coinsides with the manufactures maintnince schedule maybe for a timing belt or something simalar

@thegreatdeerhunter Well my crystal ball is broken sorry however if you are having several electrical issues start by checking the battery and it's connections as it is the heart of the electrical system and any problems there will effect all the electrical systems.

@spelunkerd This is one of those cars, it monitors your driving habits and adjusts the factory service schedule accordingly. I don't know that you can retrieve how many times the service reminder has been reset however, I don't have enough space here to comment on warranty claims however.

I need help..I have a 03 elantra gls and im getting horrible MPGs. Like anywhere from 12-15 mpgs..I just had my spark plugs changed and I had the starter replaced a few weeks back. I thought the spark plugs would help but its not doing any better..I have no CEL, no starting issues, nothing. Im running out of options and its getting to the point where I dont wanna drive it anymore because of how much im spending on gas..I have a lucas oil fuel cleaner, are those any good? 136,6xx miles by the way

What's up Eric I tried resetting the TPMS light but it says system error. I tried filling up the tired to 32 psi & driving it for a few minutes but it didn't reset the light. Is there anything else I can do before taking it to the dealership?

ERIC, could you please tell me what tools i need in order to replace 2004 honda accord ex v6 brake pads and rotors? I have all the wrenches, I also need to buy the clamp or whatever for the pads correct? is there any type of spray i need? this is the first time i am going to attempt a pad change by myself. i hope you see this and reply, thanks!

Hey Eric, I have a problem with my o6 Ford Ranger. when I start it up its at normal operating RPMs about 800 or so RPM, and when I put it into reverse it drops down to about 450- 500 RPM and go back up. it happens quick, and it happens every time I start it and put into reverse. Whats going on with it?

it is the alternator. your battery is not charging.

@unboxingguru1 If there is no OLM reset button in the driver side fuse panel then do the following. Turn the ignition to ON, do not start the engine, and slowly fully press and release the gas pedal three times. You will hear chimes and the Oil change light will go out. Security light is a Passlock 2 problem (Google it).

@unboxingguru1 If you have an owners manual for your car I would look in there to reset the oil life monitor, when I had my 2002 impala ls you reset it through the radio. As for the security light it may be an issue with the bcm (body control module) I think gm cars were known for that problem, thats normally a dealership fix unless you know a mechanic or someone who is good with cars. I'm not eric the car guy but I figure it couldn't hurt to give a suggestion. Good luck

@knifenut67 easy! 6 years at 30k miles per year. That's about what I put on my car in a year. My 07 Civic has over 110k already. A 45 minute highway commute will put miles like that on fairly quickly.

i know on my tl i only see 2 digit numbers since i have owned it. i looked on Mitchell on demand repair website the "A" stands for Valve clearance adjustment , and engine oil. the "2" is for valve clearance adjustment, belts, engine air cleaner, and cabin air filter. the "4" stands for valve clearance adjustment, water pump, spark plugs, and timing belt replacement. it explains it in the owners manual if u have one.

it might need a battery, or the starter is stuck and not working. when battery's start to fail, they might have 12+ volts to light up all the lights on the dash, but don't Amps to initially start the starter. could be a bad battery cable if its corroded on the terminal, that could be the cause of no start. if u take out your battery to any auto parts store they can do a electronic battery test to determine if the battery is bad. they can bench test the starter too, but u have to remove it from car to test it. the battery is the first place i would start. battery can have 12.66 volts seem fully charged and only put out 100cca insted of 600-700cca
