If there’s a character I’ve seen a lot of this year… It’s Chris Redfield. The characters face was plastered over countless marketing materials whilst Resident Evil Village dominated the gaming space in early 2021, with the game teasing a tread into villainy for one of the series most prolific and heroic characters.
Senior Capcom producer, Hideki Kamiya has described Chris as a “blunt, tough-guy type” and he has certainly displayed that attitude throughout the history of Resident Evil. Appearing in the first game to fight off zombies, becoming hardened by battles with umbrella and eventually becoming so no-nonsense that he can obliterate waves of bio-weapons and punch giant boulders out of his path with his bare hands. This actually happened. The man is a Chad of the highest degree.
Today we’ll look at an overview of some of Chris’ best designs across his Resident Evil outings and I’ll let you know which one of these stands out as the Definitive Chris Redfield Design in my opinion.
