Anyone who says “why do you still have acne?” has never had severe acne and doesn’t understand the struggle of trying to get rid of your acne. It is truly a struggle that often lasts for years for most people. It’s not as simple as washing your face or using salicylic acid. It’s very hard!
@leahsanders7982 жыл бұрын
So true. Sometimes there really isn't much that can be done. Like, commenting on someone's appearance is just...the fact that she's just accepted it is is super admirable.
@laurenmelissa69882 жыл бұрын
Yes, very true! I have cystic acne around my mouth from hormones and I'm currently healing from them. Asking "why do you still have acne" is the dumbest question in my opinion...if anyone asks this, think about it, like what answer are you expecting? "Oh I LOVE acne so I still have it" like no...I mean its great to accept it, especially if its a long struggle, but I don't think anyone LOVES having acne. It should also be noted that if someone asks this of someone they don't know too well, the person with acne could easily not afford good products or treatments, or even good makeup to cover it up. Take a second before you ask dumb questions people!
@katieboyum2 жыл бұрын
@@laurenmelissa6988 yes, money is another factor. Many of the treatments that really help with acne are expensive and might require several visits. Or you might have to go to a holistic doctor to find the root cause or get extra testing done to see what’s going on in your body. All things that usually aren’t covered by insurance and cost a lot!

Yup. I can’t bring myself to buy anything, because it’s just so expensive to get it shipped to the eu and even now i live in montreal and the shipping is just crazy. At the same time it’s a luxury, stunning brand, the packaging is fantastic, just not for me at this time. I would never get mad at the brand for pricing their things. No one says that about tom ford or Chanel

@@talishastewart8782 wow, i had no idea that it was *that* much more expensive in canada! are customs that much, or is it a combination of costs?

@@mus1quenonst0p I wanted to support Sam when auric first launched but the costs here in the uk are ridiculous… it would be over £100

Girl, I’m on year 6 of this Samantha train. I started watching for makeup tutorials, and stayed for you. Your personality, your humor, the way you see things. It’s refreshing. It’s not the normal LA girl youtuber. I flock to personalities like yours! I’m now pregnant with my first, and hearing your raw thoughts on pregnancy and everything helps me. I feel like I’ve grown with you, and you helped influence me. I’m a little 24 year old Ohioan and am inspired by you! Never feel discouraged. The true ones will always stay, people on the internet can be gross sometimes.

Everything said in this video is literally WHY I watch you. You're always so real to yourself and the community you share with. Its like a 'treat' for the odd time you do upload. its real and watching you make a beautiful makeup look is a bonus

Sam this is so authentic and hysterical I love this content lol the face lady bit killed me I echo most of the comments I’m seeing: I came for the makeup when I was probably 20 and stayed for your humor, authenticity, growth, realness, etc. I’m 28 and feel like I’ve definitely grown with you. I always find you so relatable and there have been times when you’ve spoken about mental health and have described how I’ve felt better than I ever could. Thank you for staying true to yourself and helping others feel comfortable doing the same! You’re truly a gem ❤️

Just wanna say, I’m really grateful for the proper, pre-organised and high quality captions on your videos, I need it but find the auto described appearing word by word so distracting so when I go to watch a video from I know I’m going to get to process all of it and just enjoy the content then constantly on processing what’s being said. It’s pretty rare people do that and I wanted to say I really appreciate that being part of when you upload 💖 also loving you posting for the hell you want!

I love your content. It’s so much more relatable than just listening to “makeup.” It’s literally the best of both worlds. I’ve been a long time follower and have purchased Auric. #samisthebomb

I subscribed because I randomly came across one of your videos talking about your depression and mental health. You said exactly what I needed to hear at the time. I was glad to find someone who's content was caring, intelligent, creative, but also relaxed. I only enjoy watching people I could see myself actually wanting to be around in real life if I ever met them.

Oh ya. The discussion on pricing is so interesting. The same kind of thing happens in the art industry and when I was taking a business class I heard a story of a realtor who became an artist and right from the beginning she charged high prices for her pieces and she got alot of flack for that but really it's about setting an expectation for your brand and about the quality of the product. There was alot of other business mumbo jumbo lessons from this story that I have forgotten lol cuz I took that class like 10 years ago but the point is, is that this realtor knew how this all worked cuz she had done it in real-estate for years before. And she was very successful even tho there was alot of shade about "how dare she charge these prices when I've never heard of her before." But she was supper successful anyways. This kind of this happens in so many different areas of business. So good job girl! Your doing great. You wouldn't have haters if you were doing awesome things.

Love this analogy. And let’s be clear as well that men rarely get as much criticism for these things. People take it for granted that if a man (and more specifically white and cis male) or male-run business is charging high prices it’s worth it, but women are expected to justify it. Anyway I’ll happily buy one or two things from an amazing independent woman-owned (or otherwise underrepresented person-owned) brand rather than a whole bunch of things from big mediocre fast fashion type brands. That goes for makeup, art, or anything else.

This was such a good video. I love that you genuinely just kind of do what feels right to you and don’t seem terribly bothered by people who criticize you (or at least you don’t let them change you). You clearly have a lot of respect for yourself while still being able to reflect and grow. I also appreciate you breaking down all the costs of releasing a product; thank you for emphasizing ethical sourcing and paying people fairly!!

This made so happy emotional. I've followed you since the Batalash days and you've remained one of my favourite youtubers. While I love makeup, I'm more here for your personality and humour and authenticity. I happen to share some of the other interests/mental health struggles so I find that content engaging too. Even if I'm not interested in a particular subject, I still find your videos fun because of your sense of humour. It's been so nice to see you grow and change over the years and also introducing us to Alyssa and her work which I really enjoy too. Sending so much love from Scotland 🥰
