Also about the argument of Force Stasis not being used by Kylo in the final fight, as I said, Disney wanted to appeal to old and new fans alike. New fans who aren't familiar with force stasis (casual star wars fans, kids, etc.) might be confused or add that as a nitpick to the movie. While I admit that Disney removing comic canon and stuff wasn't a smart move, Disney also brought in new fans to Star Wars who in turn, watched the prequels and the original trilogy. Disney might have affected some fans by adding things that only avid Star Wars fans would know. Like I said, they're playing it safe.

Let me explain why The Force Awakens copying and pasting ideas from a New Hope is worse than say, Guardians of the Galaxy doing it. It is because Guardians of the Galaxy exists in a seperate universe to Star Wars. The Force Awakens on the other hand, is a SEQUEL to what it ripped off. It invalidated the triumph of the Rebellion by resetting the status quo to Rebels VS Empire again. There’s a clear difference between these 2 films and why there is outrage. I call it Plagiarism because J.J. Clearly took A New Hope’s script and copied it. The only credit given to George Lucas was the characters and universe. Just because J.J. didn’t face legal consequences for stealing other peoples ideas, doesn’t mean he didn’t plagiarise. There’s legal loopholes when it comes to filmmaking.

The Plot was a watered down version of A New Hope, that renders the original and Prequel trilogy pointless by hitting the reset button and rebooting everything. The Film leaves us with mountains of plot holes thanks to JJ's terrible mystery box writing philosophy, making the bad decision hooking everyone with story threads yet expecting the sequels to answer everything. Come the end of Episode 9, there are more questions than answered ones, and to be clear, very little was answered. The Force Awakens was fan service 101, obnoxiously re-introducing characters from the OT while paying every mention to the OT at every turn, while ripping it off at the same time. It was designed to grasp the dicks of every Star Wars fans while spitting in their faces at the same time. They gloated about things like Practical Effects after the false narrative that the Prequels were all CGI were in actuality, The Prequels had more practical sets that the Entire OT. The film relied on convenience, contrivance and coincidence to progress the story, and anyone thinking about the plot in depth for more than 2 minutes will go crazy with questions. Things like: - How did the First Order build Starkiller Base with such a small workforce? - Who is Snoke? - Why did Kylo Ren turn to the Dark Side? - Why did Luke leave a map to himself? - Who are Rey's parents? - How did Finn overcome the brainwashing so quickly? - Why did Finn help the guy who killed his Friend? - What even is the First Order? - What is the state of the Galaxy? - What planets did Starkiller blow up? Coruscant? - What is the Resistance? - Why is Rey so good at everything on her first attempt? - Who is Lor San Tekka and how did he get the map to Luke Skywalker? - Why are Han and Leia separated? - How did Maz get Luke's Lightsaber? - Did Maz Survive? - Did Phasma Survive? - How did Han Solo magically stumble into the Falcon Again? - Why did Poe leave BB-8 and Finn on Jakku? Did he just get bored and called it a day? - Where did C-3PO get the red arm? Some of these questions might have been explained in a book, but that's the thing. They say, "fuck you! go read the books!" And the climax Lightsaber fight had piss poor choreography. Plus, the fact that this is part of a trilogy with no enforced roadmap The Force Awakens sucks for these reasons. The spectacle is good, but that's not unheard of in a Star Wars movie, because guess what? The special effects team on the fucking Transformers Movies cared about it just as much. I love John Carpenter's The Thing, it does the mystery idea correctly. It also didn't have an insulting ending that guaranteed a sequel for the answers. Can I also have some example of J.J. being creative? Almost all of his movies are continuations of other people's hard work. Mission Impossible, Star Trek and most espicially Star Wars. The only "original" work I think was Super 8, but I won't judge since I haven't seen that movie.

Excuse Me good sir, but how is stealing and Plagiarizing previous movies count as "experimenting". And yeah, yeah, most people liked the Force Awakens the first time round, including me. But the reason many changed their minds is because just like Space Jam, it failed to hold up on repeated viewing. There are plenty of films that die off in popularity after the first time watching. And I also assessed why I enjoyed it the first time. The film shoved fan service in your face and relied heavily on nostalgia, and engaged you with mysteries that would come in the next movie which it never did.

@@ffjreviews9029 I think there’s a distinction to make between The Phantom Menace and The Force Awakens. First off, both A New Hope and The Phantom Menace was written by the SAME guy, George Lucas. You can’t ripoff your own story. Maybe it counts as self-plagiarism which is a thing but that’s a different story. Second, The Force Awakens invalidated the triumph the Rebels achieved in the original trilogy by resetting the status quo to Rebels VS Empire again. The Phantom did not because y’know..... it’s a prequel. And also the broader scope was not a copy of A New Hope. This was the age of a republic, not a dictatorship. I guess you make a good point with Boba Fett, but I like how George attempted to give the most overrated character ever some backstory. As for C-3PO, an interesting fact that might surprise you is that C-3PO was actually built by a kid in George Lucas’s head since 1977. A lot of Prequel Ideas from George came his head he had for the longest time. As for Chewbacca, he did actually serve a purpose. You see, the Kashyyyk sequence was meant to be worldbuilding to give a scope of the clone wars, that it would be fought by even a bunch of humanoid dogs. There was a reason. I would also like to address the fan service thing. There is plenty of unjustified fan service. The Millenium Falcon, Rey and Finn stumbling into Han and Chewbacca and they get to fly the falcon again. Characters like Nien Numb and zack at make cameos, they reference the OT like the Prequels never happened. I think the returning characters could’ve been written a little more naturally into a plot, instead of it being a reunion.

The Island is a Michael Bay movie which came out in 2005. It pretty much stole a lot of its plot from an older film called Clonus, and Universal settled out of court. It’s actually not bad as far as Bay films go. The soundtrack by Steve Jablonsky is great, though I say the same about the Transformers film scores, which were also done by SJ.

It means taking the work of someone else and passing it off as your own. So yeah, I do know what Plagiarism is. Go away.

The main thing I always hear from Sequel fans who try to say TFA is not a copy-paste plot is pointing out extremely specific differences and I always have to point out how every rip-off is going to have their differences. I also point out how most of the “changes” were most likely done so that people who still persist with defending this movie would point it out. It copied and pasted more than enough. I’ve also pointed out that all the “changes” tie into other problems with the movie, like the absolute butchering and misunderstanding of the characters and the story. For example, Rey is a Mary Sue because the way she uses the force is completely inaccurate and reflective of JJ Abram’s incorrect idea on how the force works. I discuss all this in a more recent video, “How The Force ACTUALLY Works” go watch that, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. And unlike Cosmonaut, I use quotes and accounts from George Lucas, the films, etc to prove my point.
