Butter chicken, traditionally known as Murgh makhani, is a type of curry made from chicken with a spiced tomato and butter sauce. Its sauce is known for its rich texture. In addition sometimes the cream gives the curry sauce a silky smooth rich texture.

Ingredients:
1kg of chicken breast fillet cut into thin but big peices
4 large onions quarted
7 medium tomatoes halved
150g salted butter
double cream
4 tablespoons oil
juice of one whole lemon
Spices for the masala:
1 teaspoon salt & chilli powder
2 teaspoon coriander powder & deghi mirch
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Spices for the meat marination:
1 teaspoon salt & coriander powder
2 teaspoon of deghi mirch & tandoori masala (Rajah Blend)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder & chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon red & orange food colouring
2 peices each of frozen ginger and garlic cubes
1 heaped tablespoon of dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri meethi)
extra butter to garnish (optional)
