Hi, I am a nurse who has RLS and I have seen many patients with RLS benefit from the SCDs! I decided to see if I could get a pair for myself so I just looked on amazon and there they were! The price was around $30-$50 and was definitely worth the investment.

hi, i have this usually at night. i lie on my bed with my butt against the wall and my legs in the air, for 5 or so minutes. that usually gives me enough relief to get to sleep. hopefully this helps somebody else.

I have found taking magnesium helpful, but be careful you can overdose on it. Also lemon juice in water or tonic wa ter seems to help. Massaging my calf muscles helps and taking a hot bath with Epsom Salts helps.

For me RLS starts in evening usually BUT it will attack when I take a nap so I'm guaranteed to wake up in an hour or so. It feels like it's coming out of my tailbone and attacks thighs.

I've had RLS all my life, genetic component, tried everything ! About to ask Mr Dr about Sodium Valporate... but it's out of left field so I may be back to trying the more familiar meds any time soon! Most I've tried have side effects of some kind or another. So, really enjoyed the lecture, I felt that at last RLS was being taken seriously, hopefully future generations will not suffer the way we have with some more research done in future.

I get RLS which over the last 3 years has come and gone. It can be both legs or just one and the longest time I have had it is 3 months. At the moment I'm going through it again on one leg which has been going on for 3 weeks every evening and some of the day. I purchased some CBD oil a week ago, some on the stronger side. While I'm still experimenting on the right dose ( 3 drops three times a day) so far I'm having encouragin results and the last few days I've had No RLS during the day and I've been having a few hrs sleep at night too.

Wrt 12:31 demyelinating neuropathy indicative of RLS: Thiamine (vitamin B1) is an essential component of myelination. It just so happens to be one of the most deficient nutrients, and coincidentally is also highly concentrated in the potentia nigra - together with iron - the one site in the brain that happens to be so depleted of iron in RLS. One could hypothesize that the brain is down regulating iron due to lack of needed thiamine (the body doesn't leave iron sitting around if it can't be used). Is RLS maybe a localized thiamine deficiency in nerve tissue? There are many yt videos on how forms of thiamine in sufficient quantities can treat all kinds of nerve related conditions, in particular neuropathy, which is linked to RLS.

I was diagnosed with RLS and got medication for it for about 2 years. I decided to stop cause i dont like to have too much drug in my system and so on. Natural medicine was helping me for a while..but the pain the burns etcetc came back to the point that i looked for a night job due to the lack of sleep.

Potassium and B1 are needed. Potassium you heed 4500 mg per day. If you eat lot of leafy greens.

@@chiron591, i'll try to remember your tip. of course, not everyone's rls is likely to be caused by the same list of deficiencies. i'm trying hard to remember if i'd tried these 2 nutrients amongst everything else i tried over the years. p.s. immediately after posting this, i remembered that i had made potassium part of my regular diet by using low sodium table salt. i also eat a lot of green beans which are a good source of vit b1 and have been doing so for years.

I remember when I first got mine. I wanted to stay up past 11 to watch an old black and white horror flick. I was 11 years old and I remember the sensation started. They went away as soon as I went to sleep, But no more! They've gotten progressively worse and worse and worse. Requip works great. However, I want to get off of it by trying more holistic approaches. I understand B9 and magnesium are supposed to work well.

QUININE was the first thing I was given for restless legs. It sure did a number on my stomach. Probably the beginning of chronic GERD. Don't drink just before you go to bed.

Maybe restless leg syndrome sometimes has nothing to do with dopamine maybe it has something to do with excess orexin hypocretin like the antithesis of cataplexy. No creativity amongst these guys.
