1 change is enough. The 8k miles oil was still serviceable, in spite getting darker.

This was flushed with new oil each time, actually 6 times in the original video. 4 was enough to get to the oil clear. 5 and 6 looked pretty much the same.

@@OwenLucas i watched that Video and it is one of favorite because it is very logic and sensible. But was thinking, would flushing with additives more effective when added to clean oil or just does not matter.

Don't show him the 150k + miles piston heads 😂( for those qho didn't get it they will have a lot of soot on them, and it is perfectly normal. It doesn't affect anything)

Above, you have 8000-mile oil. Below, you have clear oil. It took four (4) oil and filter changes - with running the engine for a few minutes in between - to clear the sump out of old oil.

I was just showing how many changes it would take to clear out the sump until clear oil flowed out. Even after 1 oil change there is still oil left inside the baffles, oil passages, and valve train. On some big diesel engines there can be 2 quarts or more remaining inside. This is not a necessary procedure though, it was more of an experiment to see how many it would take.

Must be a nasty engine. I change my oil and the oil comes out clean on the dipstick for quite awhile. In a Toyota 5.7 liter and a Cummins x15 engine.

Just a 2005 Scion tC, 2.4 liter 4 cylinder Toyota 2AZ-FE. Oil was inside longer than 5k miles though.

This would be a lot faster doing a single short run with 50/50 ATF and oil for a flush.

I’ve heard people add a little ATF before but going 50/50 might be too much h. It would really break down the lubrication properties of the engine oil. I know someone who blew up their engine just adding a quart of ATF into a 5qt sump.

@@williamk9881 do what you want but if you have a GDI Turbo (either one or both) and most of your driving is not highway, you should change every 4,000 miles. I’m doing every 3,500 now. Always with full synthetic. Too much fuel dilution to go more than that. 5,000 max. Doesn’t matter if the oil says 10,0000 + on the bottle.

Waste of oil .have car warm empty about half of old oil . Put in the oil engine flush chemical and top with new oil and let idle for 40 min. And intermittently revving the engine for 1 minute 2500rpm then remove oil and add new oil and new filter
