@@SalesforceForEveryone I couldn't agree with you more. When you mentioned the mister money mustache blog I was floored! That's the very first old school personal finance blogs on the internet that I started reading back in the day. Crazy that his content still holds true in 2021. Awesome content coming from you too sir. Keep up the great work!

Awesome video Bradley! I did have a question though. I think the video asumes one is moving up the career ladder but doesn't clarify how quickly. For instance, does this model assume you'd be an Admin year 1, but a consultant by year 3 in order to continue increasing your income at the pace shown at the video?

Thanks for the video. Can someone tell me how much is 60k or 100k in Net ? I don't live in USA so I want to have an idea to understand better.
@SalesforceForEveryone
@SalesforceForEveryone 3 жыл бұрын
It depends on alot of things. Which state you live in, if your spouse works, how many dependants you have, if you invest in retirement vehicles or have employer health insurance etc... A married person with a stay at home spouse making 60k put simply living in Florida (no state income tax) would not be federally taxed on the first 25k due to the standard deductible, then about 10% federal taxes on the remainder. So they'd back about $3500 in taxes. So I guess net would be $56,500 but again it all depends on alot of situationals.
@mrslavanderblu

Don’t the taxes affect the gross income number? How do you save 10k off of a 60k income with 50k in expenses and still pay taxes?
@SalesforceForEveryone
@SalesforceForEveryone 2 жыл бұрын
Dang you're right! I definitely missed that, I get excited on this topic and missed that. Now that I think about it that could've gotten crazy complex as there are so many considerations. So for anyone reading the comments here are some thoughts on the topic. - Country (let's assume US) - State - Filing status and do you have a spouse that earns income? - W2 or 1099 - Any deductions, credits etc... - I'm sure there is more 😩 So let's go with the $60k and assume single, state tax at 5%. $60k - $12,400 (standard deductible) = $47,600 taxable. $47,600 - S10,000 (saved pretax in 401k) = $37,600 taxable. I'm guessing considering the tax brackets you'd get taxed at about 16% actual on that so you end up with roughly $6k in taxes. So you would end up needing to spend $44k instead of the $50k in the video. Depending on a ton of variables you could come out worse or better but of course the more you make the higher percentage you pay. So yes I completely left that out and it's an excellent point!
