Fascinating listening to an owner who uses the car you built for him, especially when the car is used in anger and doing so well in its class.

Couldn't understand why Vader looked grey until I rewatched the beginning. 🤦🏼 Alasdair seems like an absolute dream customer, very down to earth, clear, concise, positive, zero ego too. This was a great episode and very good to see the car being properly used. 🙌🙌

Previous time at ty croes, i was as scrut and was looking at the car, and suddenly had the " oh thats the retro power car!" moment and was talking to Allister. Big reason i returned today was to look at the car again, Allister will probably have seen me just looking almost in a trance lol. Its just so well put together, there isnt a bad weld on the car at all, and that even with properly built cars is rare! Details like the exhaust heat shield is done like its factory, seats with the proper pattern in the middle, its just right. Made my day to see this on youtube. thankyou !!!

This video is absolutely mega. The format and editing is spot on. So good to see the car being used and to hear from one of your customers. Loved the whole story and the coverage of the rally with the in car footage, awesome pedalling 👍 Please make some more episodes in this series. Great work guys.

Loved this. I discovered Alasdair's channel a few weeks ago and have been binge watching these rallies. 😊 Met you guys at Goodwood in 2019 as a result of watching Gordon Murray build and I remember you telling me about this crazy guy who picked up his car from your workshop and immediately drove it to the circuit. We then watched him hammer it round the track and drift through the chicane before the pit straight. It was one of the quickest cars on track. Top guy. Full respect to Alasdair and great to see him and Chevette doing so well in competition. 👍👍

Loved this car at Goodwood 2018 - proper weapon - I knew it was it's debut event and expected it to be a steady shakedown run - boy was I bloody wrong there - on it right from the start an it was a pleasure to watch

Brilliant to see. You must get such a buzz from seeing one of your builds being used properly and in ‘anger’ in the way it was meant to be. The car went so crisply in the hands of its capable and devoted team. Amazingly, it looks to be so well cared for. Little wonder it puts such a smile on faces and turns in those great results. Please may we have some more similar follow ups. Thanks for this episode.

Love your work! Just incredible attention to detail and absolute top quality execution. Love your videos! The more in depth the better, and this new series is just brilliant! Great idea! About the episode; great build, great story, lovely to see some rally action and what a great guy. I'm really impressed with his driving skills and likewise with his co-pilot, especially for their 30th rally only. I would've guessed they had much more experience than that. Very impressive. It's obvious that they're a great team! Also, what a great testament this is, to the work you do at Retropower, and your involvement with your costumers. I love the story when he writes his old mate, and the guy doesn't hesitate a second and responds with a photo in full race suit and helmet haha 😄 full-on ready to go, just great!💪 Thanks to everyone involved and good luck next weekend, please keep us updated on the results! Best regards, André.

Cracking video but then again I am a rally nut... curious as to why it's fitted with a "stubby" gearstick and not a tall lever so there's less distance for the hand to travel from wheel to gearstick? Or even flappy paddles?

Cool vid', cool car and cool owner! 😎👍 23:43 - but that marshal standing on that side of the fence was NOT cool - it was a damn-stupid place to stand rather than just leaning over the fence. Yup, using the hand-brake is really only for when trying to provoke the rear to step out to kill understeer, or for REALLY tight hairpins where it's a much faster way to flick the car round and/or there isn't enough lock to do it cleanly.
