This was just exceptional in every way. Everyone the next morning was talking about the show. I almost fell on the floor when Phyllis told Lou how hard it is to coordinate accessories. Nancy Walker was priceless. Imagine all the logistics involved to do this episode. People always commented about how perfect the apartment had been conceived--growing up Jewish in a four-family flat, yep, this is it. Right down to the doilies.

Not sure why, but this scene where she tells Mary on the phone what to tell Phyllis is the scene that I will always remember

The funny part of this was Phyllis pulled the same thing on Mother Dexter on her own show as well. Only Mother Dexter wasn't pleased with Phyllis either, to the point where she kicked her in the shin and threw the bouquet AT her! Hahahahahaha!

@mattrnyc1 I'm so jealous that you know all the highways and byways of New York City! It must be wonderful to live there (I'm assuming you do!). Every "Rhoda" episode gave me such an urge to hop on a plane to NYC; however, I've only ever passed through once, never was able to stop and visit. Rats! Oh, well.......maybe someday.

No I did not write the story. I just told it to Lorenzo Music & later saw something on RHODA that 'strongly' reminded me of my marriage day. Lorenzo is not in anybody's background. He was one of the writers on this show & also gave his voice only to the doorman Carlton. He did a million commercials & was the voice for GARFIELD until he passed. We lost a wonderful man, a good friend & a great talent. He is missed very much.

@bluenail03 - All but forgotten. By the time "Rhoda" begun, the show's creators "tweaked" the characters back history and consequently you only ever saw Brenda. Debbie vanished from the picture and Arthur was also never seen or heard from. By the way the scripts were written when the series went into production, it was implied that Rhoda and Brenda were the only siblings and both Arthur and Debbie never existed.....

She gets on at the E. 68th Hunter College Station (6 train). The r and the Col on the sign are visible behind her when she stands on the platform. To get to the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, she would have to switch to either the 4 or the 5, which she could do at 86th St or 125th St.
