Marvel Comics ran a lengthy Tarkin super station plot over 4-5 months 1983 which honestly made no sense because RotJ had DS2. 🤨 The Tarkin had Vader but not Palpy. The gang sneaks in & covertly wipes out the huge space station.

I like that Sith immortality is a materialistic immortality. They need to bind their essence to their body or objects in order to survive. My headcanon is that the process eternally severs them from the Cosmic Force meaning if their body dies or the object is broken their soul is obliterated. They cease to be luminous beings and become nothing more than crude matter.

I feel like the work-around for Luke "force-choking" the Gamorrean guards is that he only makes them think they're choking, without any pressure being applied to their throat. They're in no danger of actually dying but they don't know that and so they react accordingly.

On the topic of Leia remembering Padmé - a novelization of Revenge of the Sith I had when I was younger went out of it's way to describe Leia's eyes being open at birth, which I assume was an attempt to explain her having vague memories of her mother's face. Obviously novelisations are dubiously canon (and it was released before the Disney aquisition so it's even "less" canon) , but I thought it was a neat way to justify the line in ROTJ.

Ellipsis points are periods in groups of usually three ( ... ) , or sometimes four ( .... ). They signal either that something has been omitted from quoted text, or that a speaker or writer has paused or trailed off in speech or thought, or as a replacement for an omitted word, sentence, or section. A four-dot ellipsis is used when two or more sentences are omitted from a quote or thought. An ellipsis consisting of three evenly spaced periods is used to indicate the omission of words or suggest an incomplete thought. Given these English grammatical uses, Episode crawls presenting the four-dot ellipsis may indicate the (rest of the movie) is filling in the completed thought or part of the story, which are also amidst the story itself. With Return of the Jedi intending to be the theatrical ... conclusion ... to the IV - VI section of what is now the Skywalker Saga, the three-dot ellipsis may indicate the (rest of the movie) concludes the thought or story section/Second Act of what we could now consider a three-act completed story/saga.

Here’s the actual scene in the novelization between Sidious and Luke regarding Yoda. It’s clear that unlike what the video said, Sidious clearly knew who Yoda was, and may have even been mocking Yoda’s speech pattern: The Emperor tapped his fingers on the arm of the throne, recalling. 'There was one called... Yoda. An aged Master Jedi... Ah, I see by your countenance I have hit a chord, a resonant chord indeed. Yoda, then.' [...] 'This Yoda,' the Emperor mused. 'Lives he still?' Luke focused on the emptiness of space beyond the window behind the Emperor's chair. The deep void, where nothing was. Nothing. He filled his mind with this black nothing. Opaque, save for the occasional flickering of starlight that filtered through the ether. 'Ah,' cried Emperor Palpatine. 'He lives not. Very good, young Skywalker, you almost hid this from me. But you could not.

I always wondered what that yellow blade meant, but it didn't mean anything back then. But my uncle knew were were talking about it, and he shoplifted a blue saber from a 12" Obiwan, and gave it to us for Luke. We had no idea he had stolen it. That was kind of shitty. He was a jackass.

Choking problem. Luke used a mind trick to make the guards THINK they were choking. He dosnt use the thumb and finger choking gesture. Luke isn't above using a dirty trick even if he is above actually choking them.

I’ve always imagined that Vader could channel Force Lightning thru his arm stumps, but if he had done it while wearing electronic prosthetics it would’ve destroyed the electronics. Perhaps if Vader was using purely mechanical arms (like many current prosthetics) he would be using Force Lightning all the time

I was skeptical this would be a bunch of obvious stuff, like “who played Wicket?”, etc. But as a 48-yr old lifelong SW fan (since 1978-79 at least), I learned a lot watching this. It’s entertaining as well, like SW Expl normally is…

I also think that Palpatine master plan to lure the rebellion in to wipe it out probably also involve the star destroyer fleet that was being equipped with miniature death star lasers on exgal But due to the actions of Crimson Dawn the second death star's exterior wasn't completed creating massive vulnerabilities once the shield was knocked out

Ive seen ppl question how ewoks hurt storm troopers with clubs, spears and rocks, but ive always thought of ewoks as being extremely strong. Imagine a chimpanzee with a baseball bat. The blunt force they could generate would easily break bones right thru storm trooper armor because its not a contained suit. Its a bunch of modular pieces. Esp since the troops on forest moon of endor were almost all scout troopers with significantly less armor.

22:00 In re. B. Wings As a kid, (7 when Jedi premiered) I was a member of the SW fan club. I beleive that is where I got this poster. I might still have it but for now, I'm going off of memory. This was a drawn poster, showing the Attack on the Death Star at the top and the Endor moon at the bottom. (No credits, or even movie title. Possibly, it was drawn before the movie, as a teaser, like we needed one! LoL I never had a Kenner B-Wing and this poster had one. I'm guessing it was a trick of the angle but it made the Bottom of the B-wing, rolling on the End or moon, while the Upper portion of the ship was in outer space, giving the impression of a ship thousands of miles long! Since we could only watch the film on a t.v. / VCR, I never even saw the ship in the battle, which added to the confusion. I'm not saying anything besides, obviously that artwork was strange and impossible but does anyone remember this acid trip of a poster?? Would love to finally figure this out. Cheers

I've heard two other explanations about Darth Vader stopping Luke from killing the Emperor. One is that he suspected that the Emperor wouldn't take the risk of simply counting on Vader to stop Luke and probably had some trick up his sleeve, thus he stopped him so they could take him out later when Luke had grown stronger. The other is that he wasn't convinced that Luke would simply fall down the path of the Dark Side by killing the Emperor at that particular moment and wanted to make sure Luke was fully turned before attempting to take him out.

If it’s alright I want to ask my own 40 questions about The Phantom Menace. But if it’s not alright and too late here is my non-summarized question. On the Trade Federation ship there is clearly a communication ability to talk to Palpatine on Courasant. So if a Republic ship and entourage went to force a settlement how would the Republic and especially Chancellor Vilorim who informed Queen Amidala that the Jedi had arrived, not view the loss of two Jedi, two ship captains and a republic ship as an immediate act of war… and on top of that sending a senate to investigate the claims. There is no need to send it would all be documented when the Republic ship was blown away.

The funniest thing about these questions is that no one is taking into account that Lucas created plot holes, first within the original trilogy (episodes 4-6), and then with the prequels (episodes 1-3). The answers seems to be coming from sources that were written/created decades after the original trilogy was filmed, so taking information from "Star Wars- Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel" seems to be something that might not have been part of George Lucas' original story.

@0:27 My long held belief was that they actually started building the second Death Star before A New Hope, as a backup in case the first one was destroyed as well as to do more damage using two such stations... @7:35 My headcanon answer is that he went to one of the old Jedi temples where Ahsoka spoke to him and gave him his crystal, similar to how Yoda gave Ezra his... @18:46 A. She was born second. B. It's a girl thing. @20:23 If that is Rex, then Jabba's slave, "Oola", is actually Hera Syndulla!

We see that Grogu was training by 50-51. So lets assume Yoda also began training around the same time. So by 100 he could have been well into being a Jedi knight and maybe teaching a Padawan. He is 900 yo so that would mean he did indeed teach Jedi for 800 years.

In my head canon Palpatine used the first Death Star to eliminate high ranking military officials that could potentially usurp him. It wasnt its sole purpose but it definitely became a convenient tool for him to further secure his power. The second Death Star was built so fast because it was already being constructed in secret roughly the same time as DS1.

Around 26:00 minutes when they talk about the blue energy that erupted when Palpatine was thrown down the reactor I think something similar happened when the Sith artifacts were tossed down the reactor in Empires End in the Aftermath books. Basically showing a release of Darkside energy.

I always assumed that Grogu being 50 meant that Yoda's species aged at a 1-to-10 rate of humans. That would effectively mean Grogu is the equivalent of a (non-verbal) five-year-old and Yoda is the equivalent of 90 by RotJ.

In Legends, Luke did question if he was really the last of the Jedi. Obi-Wan's ghost appeared to him and said, "Not the last of the old, the first of the new." Though he wasn't being exactly literal. When he said "Not the last of the old" he meant that Luke was not the final Jedi who would ever exist. When he was trained, he was expected to be the last student of the old Jedi Order, and thus the last Jedi of that order's ways. The last of the old flawed way that was doomed to fail. He was expected to be the beginning of a new Jedi Order with a new code and traditions. One that would be better than the one who trained him. "The first of the new." I also feel Luke was the only Jedi who could truly defeat Vader and Palpatine. Thus, he needed to hear that he was the last of the Jedi. That he was the galaxy's last hope. Now it's true Leia, by Yoda's admission, was also a potential Jedi. But she didn't have the same mindset as Luke. She could have been trained and could potentially kill Vader, but she could never bring back Anakin Skywalker like Luke could. Luke always had hope that he could bring his father back to the light. It was Luke reaching out to his father that brought Anakin out of Vader which would end with Anakin killing Palpatine. Leia and Luke both would've died if they had tried to fight Palpatine. Only Anakin could kill him. In Legends, Leia talked about how she could've never forgiven Vader like Luke could. He tortured her and stood by as the Death Star destroyed Alderaan. Anakin didn't know Leia was his daughter until he had become a Force ghost. All he knew was that he had a daughter. So he couldn't apologize for anything he did to Leia in his last moments. Only ask Luke to tell his sister that there was good in him.

Just to add to 22:36 When the movie was made/written, the Rule of Two and the Sith weren't a thing. At any point during the OG trilogy it is implied that The (then unnamed) Emperor, Vader and Luke cannot coexist in a chain of command, altough Vader did say that he wanted to kill the Emperor on EP 5. Besides, in the movie it is never stated that The Emperor wanted to kill Vader up until Luke beats him. Considering all of this, it becomes somewhat understandable that Vader defending Palpy in order to iniate Luke's fall through exposure to a long and cruel fight so that he had to "win" the kill instead of it may being a one-and-go.

The four dots was functional illiteracy. By Return of the Jedi, someone had pointed out that an ellipsis is three dots. They fixed it...but later decided that it's better to pretend they'd done four dots on purpose, not out of ignorance, so they went back to four.

I believe the blue energy that shot out of the reactor shaft was both Palpatine's released Force energy and his soul. In Dark Empire, the reborn Palpatine can conjure massive Force storms that sort of resemble that blue flaming energy seen in Return of the Jedi.

The question of Vader using force lightning, it seems each force-user accesses and manifests the force in different ways. There are different aspects of the force and each individual has their own links to the force that give them better access to specific aspects and less to others. In this way, they learn and use different skills and aspects. One Jedi may be a great swordsman with a light saber but can't heal a paper cut while another may be barley able to wield a light saber but can bring people back from the brink of death. In this same way Sith learn different ways to use the force. Vader certainly knew of force lightning but may not have had access to the aspects of the force that the Emperor used to generate it, on the other hand the Emperor is never shown force-choking anyone. This was Vader's go-to force attack. The blue explosion when the Emperor fell was his dak soul leaving his body and flying out of the station. As I understand it, he had a force spell on himself to recover his soul to inhabit a clone body of himself in a secret hidden palace.
