In the past wasn't water released for the Kokanee from Cascade Lake at the beginning of October to allow the Kokanee to spawn? I heard enviromentalists were against the Kokanee spawning in Taylor Creek as native Beaver Dams had to be broken down for passage upstream and it brought bears into the area to feed on the kokanee. And Kokanee are not a native species to Lake Tahoe. This was the main spawning population for Kokanee eggs to be collected to be raised in hatcheries to plant into other California Lakes. This is a great loss to the Kokanee fishery in the state. Why did it happen?

Yeah I have heard the same thing...well its all a moot point now due to all this rain we're getting! And just so we're all on the same page...it's Fallen Leaf Lake that it comes out of not Cascade.

Heartbreaking, can we block the inlet till the rain comes? can we blast the birds? is there anything we can do?

The rain has taken care of it. Fish pouring in today. New vid coming out in a few mins. :)
