The Rev'it Expedition Goretex boots do something no other boots can; perfectly fuse the protection offered by an Enduro or MX boot with all the comfort and lightweight ergonomics of a typical adventure motorcycle boot, without sacrificing in either area.
They don't come cheap but having used them extensively I can tell you they are worth every penny. We'd argue that, in general, adventure riders should be placing a higher priority on footwear protection. We explain why in full detail.

The review I have been waiting for, thank you. Wouldn’t have minded seeing more hands on demonstrations/comparisons showing any flex like people often show with adv boots. Otherwise I am sold on a pair.

I have the previous (cheaper non GTX version) and I absolute love those. Even though the high price tag, my next version of boots will probably be the once you have shown in this KZfaq film. Nice review!!!

Great boots but they need to make them in a larger size. People wear 48's also. Come on Revit!

Would have been good to see you demonstrate the ability to resist twisting , sideways movement and the flex / strength to the sole. I’ll have to take advantage of your free delivery and returns policy to find that out.

I almost didn’t watch because of the price, but I’m glad I did. I was thinking about the TCX boots that chap was wearing in Morocco. I saw that video. I was dithering about the cost, but having broken bones in the past and experiencing the long term consequences, I think I’d be foolish not to invest in the best. Good slogan right there. If I do break my leg, I’ll be cursing myself for being cheap. I didn’t think I’d be thanking anyone for persuading me to pay silly money for a pair of boots, but it’s money well spent if the worst happens. So thank you. Right, I’m off to start a savings plan.

Thanks for an excellent and thorough review. How do you think they will perform in hot climate?

The past 6 months haven't seen many hot days in the UK so I can't comment from too much experience. As you'd expect, a high rise off road type boot with a waterproof membrane will always be a bit hot in the summer, particularly if wearing off the bike. However, these at least have Goretex which is top rated in terms of breathability for waterproof membranes. @@AdventureRiderMoto I was wondering the same thing. In India most people ride around in shorts and sandals and laugh at body armour. I do want to wear the armoured Knox base layers in a hot climate and I want decent boots. At 40c life is hellish for me walking around and same when stuck in traffic, but I remember riding in SA when I was young and wearing a leather jacket and unless I had to stop I didn’t suffer from excess heat. I have never worn goretex boots though. I’m wondering what people from Europe wear in hot climates when touring. If anyone knows, please let me know. I’m getting back into biking next year and I’m also wondering how I’m going to cope with the heat in hot climates because I intend on doing long trips and I don’t want to forsake the armour.

I agree these boots are amazing, but the only problem i can see is the Boa system. I used to have the Revit Discovery boots which are a step down from these. They had the Boa system, easy to get on and off, comfy and easy to walk in as well as being waterproof. Perfect. Or so i thought until the Boa system broke within warranty- unfortunately Revit aren't able to fix the Boa so I had to get another boot. I don't know if thats changed now but it was really frustrating- great boot but let down in that one regard, I wouldnt get them again for that reason

Interesting to hear. It's genuinely the first case I've heard of this so hopefully your experience was rare. Given these are the second version and, as you say, they still feature the BOA system in this revised version and other boots (along with other brands like Knox in their gloves) it must suggest a fairly high level of confidence in the part. A shame your experience wasn't great. Appreciate the feedback - Andrew

@@AdventureRiderMoto I was so surprised when they said it couldn't be fixed- it was just the cable/wire part too. Hopefully they have sorted it anyway! Great review as always!

I had the plastic encasing around the BOA wire fail which caused the ratchet to jam all the time. Like you, would not buy again because of this. Actually, the BOA also doesn't tighten the boots up very well over the foot area. If you can imagine pulling laces just at the top without first pulling them tight half way up it's a bit like this. Not a major, just means they are a bit loose around the foot area.

Alpine stars Tech 7’s with dry star membrane…….just as good but 1/3rd the price

Yes these are great; these are the best example of the Enduro type boot I mention. They do just as well in protection but they don't have the ADV lightweight, comfort focused features these also have. If that's not such an issue then absolutely, save the money and get the Tech 7 - Andrew

Tech 7's not as protective as these, Tech 10's better. I use Sidi X-Power with Enduro sole which are cheaper. A bit clunky though, more MX than ADV but safe.

I bought a pair recently. Your review is spot on. The only issue I had was difficulty getting my toe under the shifter. I replaced my shift lever with one that is 1 cm longer and raised it 2 or 3 mm. That solved it.
