Fun Fact: Pepsi did this ad a long time ago, doing a sip test. 9/10 people tested said Pepsi had the better taste. Coke company didn't believe that, so they ran their own tests and results were the same. Then, coke decided to change their recipe, which faced immediate backlash from the community. When coke reverted the formula, they did a *drink* test instead of a sip test, where the testers had more time to fully indulge the drink. Turns out, Pepsi's sweeter taste was more enjoyable nice since it was only one sip, but the more you drank it, the more tired of it you got. The reason they taste different is cuz the container they are held in changes the taste, glass is closest to the actual coke taste since none of it mixes in with the drink.

Basically every coke from McDonald's tastes differently because we made it at the spot by mixing syroup with soda water. Fun fact: McDonald’s has a contract with the coke company to have specially delivered coke syrup in metal tanks to (hopefully) make it better quality, but the ratio of syrup to water is different from place to place and also the type of cup actually changes the taste so while it makes sense why they have paper cups economically, it would be better if it was glass

It does taste the same at the factory but when being in the store it changes by: Glass bottle is clean no minerals is being consumed by the coke, plastic bottle is a bit different cuz there are micro plastic that comes in your drink. And metal it gains metal. McDonalds is just bigger straw but is stored in a metal container

My dad worked at Pepsi a long time ago but still remembers and tells me thing bout the production, one of those things is that the flavor of sodas changes slightly depending in what was it bottled, Soda fountain can be the most changed or like it was made right at the moment depending on how it's managed, plastic is the furthest from the true flavor, Canned adds some iron flavor but overall pretty close to the real flavor, and glass is pretty much the only way to really judge a soda without anything changing the flavor

Soda machines will always taste slightly different than factory because of the different levels of carbonation and syrup added, and Mexican Coke is actually different because of the sugar used, idk that's probably just American coke in a glass bottle, I rarely see those though

The one from McDonalds does taste like flavored water because it is. If you had ice in that it melts super quick and waters it down. Also fountain drinks are all that way because there is a syrup dispenser that then adds carbonated water to it when you push the trigger on the machine. Places like Wendy's have a machine that does all the drinks it has as touch screen that you select the drink put your cup under the dispenser and it fills your cup. McDonalds gets its coca cola syrup in stainless steel capsules were other companies get it in plastic capsules. It's some sort of exclusivity thing McDonald's has with Coca Cola.

its true tho they do taste different. i always find the glass bottled cola to be the best, then plastic, then canned, and finally the mcdonalds or any Machine soda like they use at mcdonalds....for the first 3 its based on the packaging affecting the taste, the mcdonalds machine one is because its actually a Lemonade variant where mcdonalds can adjust it to be stronger in taste or more watery in taste... it doesnt help they always add ice that is quick to melt so you dont even notice that they use less Sirop for the cokes
