Yes, I did my DNA, and I found out that I have less African dna than I thought. I thought I was at least 75% African, but nope. I'm only 62% African decent, and 38% European.

Yes my mother took the Ancestry DNA test and we found Nigeia ,Ghana, and Cameroon. Have you ever thought about doing the African ancestry DNA test? That test will show you which tribe your ancestors come from. That would be a great experience for you. I don't know if you heard of Gina Paige she along with her partner founded the African ancestry DNA test. If you go to KZfaq she has given different celebrities their DNA test results and it's exciting. I would love to see that.

I'm 85% Sub Saharan 12% European and 3% Native American.I found lots of long lost relatives on mine.I even found out that I share the same Paternal Grandmother as Pablo Escobar going back 8 generations from my amazing newfound Colombian cousins. The best thing about Ancestry.com is that it helps you to complete and put together all those missing links in your family tree.

I started my family tree over a decade ago and it has been a labor of love and sometimes heartache. Expanding my tree uncovered a connection to the Mayflower as well as to a famous jazz musician as a distant cousin. The heartache is when you find an ancestor listed in someone's will with a dollar value. All in all, it's invaluable and is what makes me...me. Enjoy your journey, Tia!

I’m Irish, English, middle eastern, Colombian, African, Asian plus so much more , they call that multi cultural, I feel incredibly bless. On my mom side is African,Indian, and European side and on my father side is the Indian, middle eastern, Colombian side.. I feel amazing and it explained a lot about who I was and the music I listen to as a teenager, a lot of British bands and love Irish music and movies and Celtic music. A year and a half ago my Mom and I took DNA tests. After finding out she was half Italian (not German, like we thought), and after seeing several relatives we did not recognize, we did a lot of investigating. Long story short, my Mom and her older brother had a different biological father than their other four siblings. It was a pretty wild thing to find out, particularly when something like that is completely unexpected. Finding out that my grandfather actually hadn't been related to me was a little hard, but meeting my mom's half brothers this past summer was amazing. We found new family, and that was extremely cool 🙂

Zainab you have to be trolling. You learn this shit in. 5-8th grade. Every single year. They’re referred to “natural clones” because they have identical dna. Which is why identical twins can frame each other, and is why with DNA testing, both twins could be determined to be the mother of each twin’s children.

But turns out I'm roughly 50% scandinavian and I had alot of english in me(pluss a couple small percentages of other ethnicities). My mom ended up like 80% norwegian, and no english which means my dad must have been REALLY english. My dad is dead and didn't take the test, and I think it's pretty neat to know that he was english. I wonder if he ever knew?

Like you, I was always curious to learn of my ancestry. So, I did the 23 & me test and learned SO MUCH about my ancestry. One of my ancestors was a slave - a slave who fought to survive so his/her future generations could have life. I cried so much the more I learned from my ancestry. Even met a few second cousins already.

Hi Tia! Yes I took the ancestry DNA test last year 2019 and I found out my long lost brother was my whole brother and not my half brother and it out a lot of family rumors to rest about my dad.. I also have tons of Family members and the Rihanna the singer is a long distance cousin.. I mean just amazing! So glad that you did your DNA test.😊

I did my ancestry about two years ago and was shocked at my results. I loved being able to get insight on my ancestors and background. My grandmother also did it and we were immediate matched which confirmed down the percentages for me. My grandmother was also matched with who we found out is her half brother from her father’s side. We’ve connected with him and it has been an awesome blessing. Thanks for sharing!

I also got really curious & had done my test previously. After always growing up being told I had native American heritage I found out no part of me has that. I do have African roots however. My family is still in denial. Oh well it made me happy. Also, my husband found out he’s 1/3 Nigerian so that was fun too. 😁
