Im so bloody happy. I saw this kit today on eBay and pushed the "buy now" button without any hesitation. Brand new in box. I payed 61.25£ with shipping. I was the first to see it. It was out for sale eBay for 1 hour and i nailed. My lucky day to say the least.

I´m glad it got there in relatively good shape, these post service people and all the international transfer don´t seem to be good for parcels these days! I would indeed love it to see this ship shaping up in the coming months or whenever it happens, you will do an excellent job on it for sure :)

The detail is awesome so crisp and the lack of flash is impressive. Great review and entertaining as always you old wombat, love your channel. There is a great book about the Batavia written by Peter FitzSimons.

I have one of these still in a sealed (uncrumpled) box. Part of my late father's collection. Will pop it on eBay soon, unless I receive an offer from elsewhere.

Revell Aqua paints are very good..bit thick but they thin down nicely..shame they are not available in Oz..

I use Revell Aqua paints often. They are great for hand painting and thin down nicely for spraying. The paint comes in cube shaped pots that are less likely to spill, especially if you interlock the lid to the base. And as you get 18ml of thick paint in a pot, that's a lot of paint for your pennies.

That looks like it will build into a fine ship Harry. If you had your choice when working with wood. Would you want a solid hull or try plank on frame? Also, Naval or merchant/working ship?
