I do share the sentiment that this blaster feels more like an incomplete prototype, a testing rig for a barrel exchange system. It seems just ... ripe for someone to take it and fiddle around with the barrel system whilst improving the ergo. If I were to take on that challenge, I suppose my first priority would actually be the ergo. I know you don't like thumb-hole stocks, coop (likely because of how many poorly designed ones there are in this space), but I think you realize that they do serve a purpose. Widening the thumb-hole stock so people can get their hands around the back of the grip would be the main priority, but I'd also change one other thing: lengthening and widening the back of the stock. I'd also make it so that, if you didn't like the stock I put on the blaster, you'd be able to detach it and use your own stock. I like what they were trying to go for, but they really should've taken ergo into account when designing this blaster. This blaster to me, overall, reads as just a bit too ... stocky to actually do the things they were trying to achieve. There's a lot of wasted plastic in the back, in my eyes. But then, I'm not exactly an engineer.

@@thekingofgamers3350 Part of the design for the original blaster was to make it almost feel like you were holding a bazooka/rocket launcher, I feel. I would like to have that same feeling, but with more of an eye towards ergo
@limpetarch98k
@limpetarch98k 2 жыл бұрын
Given the design of the stock, this thing is just asking to be treated like a rocket launcher. The receiver should be longer to not only accomodate a better shoulder rest, but also a lenghtier spring for that extra power. The grip should be canted to the left but also extended to hopefully move the off-hand away from smacking the firing hand. Once all that is done, they can finally use that free space to make a longer and more comfortable grip. That would fix the issue without really changing the blaster design itself. This blaster just tries to be as compact as possible and it shows. Also, imagine if there is a barrel swap for boomco darts, that would be sick.

Yeah this definitely couldn’t be a primary, but if your game has different ammo having way different properties it could be useful to carry this and a few of the barrels. The dream for this would be getting it to mount it to a blaster as an under barrel.

Yeah, that is what I feel a lot of people will say. It's a hella cool concept that seems to work well with the barrel switching, but the ergo of everything even at first glance looks terrible. I hope they make another version or even let you choose the handle and stock options. People complain about the Hades stock, but you can prime that with one finger and everything is very definitive.

The priming issues reminds me a lot of the real life PIAT anti-tank weapon from WW2. The PIAT was a portable spigot mortar instead of a rocket launcher, and in order to prime the weapon for firing you actually had to point it up and place your feet on the weapon’s shoulder rest, so that you could then unlock the spring and pull it up

perhaps if there was a lever linked to the priming system, like some modern crossbows, it would be easier to prime. another cool idea would be to 'spring load' the turret barrels, adding a button and a notch so you could turn it 360 degrees after loading it, then hit a button after shooting to get it to rotate on its own.

I honestly think the two springs are a bit overkill, if this is meant for fun foam flinging, then it takes already poor ergo and makes it worse by making it extremely difficult to prime. I feel a single K25 would be appropriate to launch mega/megaXL, Rockets and (if the design is improved a little) regular darts, especially so given the large plunger volume.

In addition to the notes already made, I think adding those rounded plastic bumps to the rotating barrels so that they kinda lock in place, ensuring the alignment is good, but not necessitating a button to rotate them, would be huge.

TLDR: awesome concept, but blaster needs ergonomic changes. If the designer is watching this. I would personally think a more traditional grip and stock would go a long way, probably based off of an AR15 type geometry. That would probably fix most complaints about prime weight, but if it is still heavy and unwieldy, maybe look at a longer prime stroke with a reduced spring weight. This would yield similar power and would take the same amount of total effort to prime back, but it wouldn't feel as heavy in the moment.

Also put rails on both sides of the priming handle, if an atachement has a guiding bar you can link it and move it at the same time, would allow for more complex desings

The Thunderblast actually has good ergonomics in my opinion. It's designed in such a way that it's comfortable to fire using the stock or shouldered. Perhaps a 2.0 could takes cues from that.

I agree with the specialty blaster for other ammo types thing, definitely wouldn’t fit the role as a main primary too well. But even then, it’s ergonomics and small stock really lowers it’s potential to be an actually great all-rounder blaster. Right now it feels more like a concept blaster than a blaster that you would actually use. Cool concept and has potential, but could be better.

I think this blaster would work best as a "heavy munitions" platform, being primarily for Demolisher(or home-made) rockets and Mega(XL) darts, granted it needs some tweaks to fix the ergonomics and the priming action (especially if it's gonna use those shotgun barrels)

For RSCBs I have found that darts with small heads that have a standoff between them and the body are better. (i.e. The worker half-lengths) Other than the wonky ergonomics, this blaster/system looks super fun! The attachment mechanism and the different barrels all look amazing, I'd love to see them on a better main blaster body, maybe a modified rival blaster like the Kronos or Helios? Thanks for the great review Coop! 💚

Prolly the most professional and informative Nerf channel out there, loved watching for years, but, the one thing that still annoys me is the inability to visually follow the ammo when you're firing them down the hallway, if it wasn't for the clear magazines sometimes I'd swear you weren't firing anything. Maybe consider a blanket contrasting the colour of the ammo running along side the length of your hallway so we can see the arch and trajectory of the ammo being fired. Nobodies 100%, but dam, Coop 772... your vids come close! =D

If the ergonomics were better, this would be a super cool customizable blaster! I think the grip and the stock need lots of work. Maybe even detachable stocks for different sizes. Instead of that wierd triangular priming hand, maybe a horizontal one with a lip so that you dont need to apply as much pressure? And the stock needs to be good for a strong prime. And dont even get me started with the grip, it's super easy. Add a trigger guard and a bigger thumb hole, or no thumb hole! If these are fixed this blaster would be a monster in the field!

could you also shoot half darts or boomco for ether more shots of an almost sniper rifle

It might benefit from a double-seal at the barrel attachment point. To have that much spring but get only average mod blaster velocities really just screams "air system issue"

could the prime action also rotate the barrel to the next position somehow.

I think they could have solved the issue if they extended the body and added 2 folded grips at the top and two folded pedals at the stock that would allow for an easier prime but slower reload since you would need to plant the gun on the ground step on the pedals and pump (think like a bike tire pump)

the shotgun barrel attachments are awesome and all but this is definitely the rocket launcher class blaster. to be fair, many before this haven't done very well

I’d love to build one of these just to shoot missles at stacks of red solo cups from across the room 🤘

As a War Thunder player it’s funny to see people call WoW realistic and have good graphics, especially while showing yellow and orange ships
