Atelier Sophie 2 being my 1st game of all these atelier series, finished it at about 150 hours, all I can say it was truly an amazing adventure. The engaging story, wholesome characters, world buiIding etc. I didn't quiet like the synthesis system at first but ended up so attached to it. I'm looking forward to play Ryza 3. Thanks for the review.

Playthrough clocked in at 153 hours. I have nothing more to say, as you pretty much summed up what I felt with regards to the Ryza games. This journey was very worth it and I can't wait for what the next series will entail. *now I feel like tearing up again

I haven't even started the first Ryza yet, but I'm glad to see there's three great games for me to look forward to.

I loved this game. It’s kind of crazy how this series was a constant, companion for me throughout the pandemic. Surprisingly I didn’t feel as sad as I expected for “the Ryza send-off” because I was more happy to see these characters growths that were setup in Ryza 1 were perfectly bookended here. And it’s perfectly emblematic of 3’s story, with how it’s just that you should work to improve: your improvements will improve the world around you in a real, profound way.

I'm really enjoying my time with Ryza 3, at this stage I think I'm about halfway with around 65hrs. Getting distracted a fair bit so my hours by the end will be over 100; which I have no problem with. My only issue with the game is the small text, as someone who wears glasses it can be a struggle at times. I can't wait for the background music DLC, Octopunch is a must pick for a battle theame.

To be honest, I think both combat and synthesis is better in Ryza 2. I like how easy it is to become broken in this one, but at the same time I rather have a nice progression like we had in the 2nd game compared to just struggling in combat for 2 hours until you farm enough material to become broken and breeze through half the game. The story in this one is absolutely insane and I love it. You feel like you're going on a wild goose chase when you go to each area, but then everything slowly comes together in each location to bring you back to the central plot. The writers really deserve praise for actively making 4 different games worth of plot into one singular game that makes sense AND doesn't overwhelm you. I miss the bomb rod in this one, but I'm kinda glad they didn't include it. I wish they made the field effects for the keys more useful and I wish you had access to all your keys in the field, but only the 10 for combat. Overall I still give this game 10/10

I agree with pretty much everything you said in the review. Loved the vastness of the world and they did a great job with the world building. Much like Ys they really inspired the sense of wanderlust and desire to see every corner of the world which for me really nailed the central theme of the Ryza games. Really enjoyed seeing these characters grow over the course of the series. At this point I’m not sure which formula I prefer the passing of the torch and meeting a new group like previous Atelier arcs or sticking with one core group and really seeing them get deeply developed stories 🤔.

Definitly my favorite of the series. It was as best of a send off to the character as one could hope for.

I am an old jrpg player and while I know and play alot of jrpg games Atelier Ryza was the only one among Atelier game franchise that really got my interest enough to see it through the end of its story 💙

I dream of an Atelier game that has relationship building with the side characters/romance options. I feel like we get these huge worlds pumped full of content, but cmon, I shipped Ryza and Bos so hard !!!!!!!

This is possibly the easiest Atelier game there has ever been. While the alchemy is complex the game does not require you to make OP items or weapons to beat everything. This makes for a balanced, uniform and pleasant experience thus delivering one of the best JRPGs ever in my view.

Always enjoy the reviews. I own a couple of the Atelier Iris games, but not much more. Need to get into playing those, then after experiencing it myself, may have to dive into this series. Great video as always. Have a wonderful day.

For anybody wondering the main story takes about 30 hours and 100% completion took me just over 125 hours not including any of the random world quests

I really need to play the Ryza games... there's just too much else to play as well that I get overwhelmed and can't ever make a decision on what to play.

I just finished Ryza 3 about two weeks ago, and while I generally enjoyed it, it suffered from many relatively minor issues that added up to a game that didn't feel anywhere near as polished as the previous entries in the series (specifically Ryza 2, which is my favorite). Right off the bat, the very tiny text size made it difficult to begin my adventure on the Switch. Over the course of about 65 hours of playtime, I eventually adjusted to it, but I was never able to adjust to how janky the localization is. Atelier games have never had perfect localizations, but this game was filled with errors ranging from tiny spelling mistakes to "this sentence literally makes no sense". I also thought that this hurt the story overall, as this story is quite a bit more complex than the stories of Ryza 1 or 2. The glossary during cutscenes was practically necessary for me, as there were plenty of instances of a proper noun being poorly explained in its introduction and then never being explained again. Just a few more quick criticisms I want to mention: - personal preference, but the OST is a step down from Ryza 1 and 2 - more personal preference, Ryza's design in 3 is easily my least favorite of the trilogy. I don't *dislike* it per se, but I just don't enjoy it nearly as much as the others. One of the big things is the high heels, which I just don't think matches Ryza's personality imo. - minimalist UI just doesn't have the same charm as Ryza 1 and 2 - partly a result of me playing the switch version but primarily because of the shift to open world, 3 looks significantly worse graphically than 1 or 2. characters themselves look great, but many environments don't look as dense and vibrant as those in previous games; lighting engine is much worse, pop-in is an issue All of that being said, this game still does a lot of things wonderfully. Seeing the characters grow throughout the trilogy has been incredible, and 3 feels like a superb sendoff for those characters. Federica, Dian, and Kala are all great new additions to the cast as well. It feels very easy to get OP via crafting which I generally found quite fun, although I do wish Recipe Morph was used a bit more here as opposed to relying so much on the Skill Tree for new recipes. Finally, while I had some criticisms with the open world (including some I didn't mention here), I definitely like the ambitious change to the formula and I'm excited to see how future entries refine it if they continue to move in that direction. Ultimately, I would say I enjoyed Ryza 3 a bit more than Ryza 1, but nowhere near as much as Ryza 2. It's a great game at its core, but I think a bit more time with localization and UI design, as well as me playing on PC instead of Switch, could've turned it into my favorite of the trilogy. Anyways, back to replaying Ryza 2 XD

Regrettably, I dropped the game for now. The combat was instantly incomprehensible, and the tutorial was all-too brief for me to know what was happening. I'm no expert on Ryza games, but this one's combat system would not penetrate into my brain. With your score, however, perhaps I'll give it another shot. It was pretty good for what it did, but i wish they'd drop 1or 2 new characters and gave us deeper story on characters from first 2 games.they shoulda also just dop the wild boy and his region and gave us the capital area.

Even though i Respekt your opininion there we're top many tjings in ryza that did mit make It enjoyable for me. Player guidance ist one of those and that i prefer Turn based combat system. And i dislike the huge boobs of the Woman in this games of ryza ( i mean thoose are absurd) Overall ryza as a whole ranks pretty Low in my Atelier Tier list. But it ist still a very good game Just dud mot suit my taste ad much as the previous ones
