After a long wait, the Bauer 20V brushless compact impact wrench finally came out! I got mine as a Christmas present from my girlfriend. As my very first impact wrench, I'm very happy with the power of this impact wrench. It can take off lug nuts torqued to 160 ft. lb. pretty easily. I'm pretty optimistic that it can break lose at least 200 ft. lb.

I am glad you are using the 5 ah batteries as many were using the 3 ah in tests. I would like to see the performance of the different batteries on the same impact.

Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" kzfaq.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

Well, you released this video on a day where I had to abandon my van on the jack stands after multiple impact tool failures. For whatever reason, the lug nuts on the last wheel were simply way too tight. I couldn’t get them off with the breaker bar, even when standing on it… and I’m a VERY heavy dude! My new DeWALT impact driver snapped my new Ryobi half-inch impact-rated socket adapter after my Pittsburgh 12v Emergency Roadside Impact Wrench just seized up. I actually powered through using a butane micro torch and WD-40 (gets sucked in as it cools) but I still had to jump up and down on the breaker bar. Of course, I got through all that only to end up with a bad Pittsburgh brake bleeder kit… my second one. I know a lot of people make the mistake of not removing the shipping spacer but that wasn’t it… the first one was missing the C-type bleeder fitting and had two B-types instead. I swapped it out for the older design with the C-type fitting but it would not draw a vacuum. The manual tells you to test for that before assembling. I was able to get it to draw and hold a vacuum exactly ONCE and then never again. I can’t put the wheel back on if I can’t bleed the brakes. :( I have another Pittsburgh 12v emergency roadside impact but it wasn’t handy (couldn’t drive!) and the original didn’t seem like it was going to help even before it broke. Since so much of the day was spent fighting the stuck lug nuts I have resolved to get a better impact wrench. Something cordless, brushless, and higher torque. FWIW, “12v” doesn’t refer to a 12v battery pack. It’s powered from the vehicle (not cordless). I originally got it for removing the countershaft sprocket on my motorcycle where I would power it off the bike.

I didn't know they had a 12v cigar lighter impact wrench, lol! That's actually pretty smart for road side emergency. Which DeWalt impact do you have? Is it the high torque one? Now I don't know about their bleeder kit but my Maddox oil filter wrench set has two exactly the same thing and I haven't went back and swap out yet since I don't use it that often. I only used them because the shop sometimes overtightens the oil filters and they're really difficult to take off. Now that I maintain them myself, I can untighten the oil filter with an oil filter wrench unless they have required torque spec.

@@yihuandiy6355 I wish it was the new DCF900… or the DCF899… or literally ANY high-torque impact wrench… but it wasn’t even an impact wrench. It was a DeWALT DCF809B compact impact driver (brushless, Atomic, 20V Max)… part of their 2-tool Black Friday deal at Home Depot. Not their best but, then again, who knows what would have happened if the 1/2-inch impact adapter hadn’t snapped at the first or second blow (just like yours did). The experience did leave me looking for deals on a true high-torque model like DCF899, DCF900, or the new Hercules “Ultra Torque.” I wrote that before I was able to finish the job in the morning and a lot more happened. I got a ride to Harbor Freight to return the Pittsburgh one-man brake bleeder as soon as they opened. This time I opted to spend twice as much on the MityVac MV8000 only to find that neither of the two bleeder adapters fit… and both are the same size (6mm). Some of the cone-shaped nozzles might’ve fit inside my brake bleeder nipple but I didn’t resort to that since I could do a traditional two-person brake bleed with the person who gave me a ride… my brother who was at work when I had to give up the previous day. So when it was time to mount it all back I tried to use a lug nut to hold the brake rotor and found that 3 of the 5 lug nuts could not be threaded on by hand. Thankfully, I still had someone to give me a ride to the parts store for replacements. After setting my torque wrench to the specified 100 foot pounds for my vehicle, I found that the first lug nut wouldn’t even begin to tighten. It simply pulled all of the threads off the stud as one clean coil/spring! They were clearly damaged when removing the lug nut due to someone over tightening before. There was body damage around that wheel and it was the only hub that was still shiny (others were rusted). There were junkyard numbers painted inside the rim so it was clear that a previous owner replaced the hub after an accident… before promptly damaging its new studs by over tightening! Yeah, it might be overkill for me to get a true high-torque cordless impact wrench but I don’t want to ever find myself in that situation again. I mean, I’m driving around on four of five studs right now since there’s almost no chance I’ll be able to get the spindle nut off without a good impact wrench. That’ll be my next big purchase, though I might go for a DeWALT Atomic XR 1/2-inch impact instead of a true high-torque. Despite getting up early to start as soon as possible I was still very late for my shift at work! It just took too long to finish all that.

Seems like a decent little impact. I use all Air impacts for my heavy duty needs and my 20 volt DeWalt impacts for my lighter needs. The DeWalt 1/2 Inch impact is a beast though.

Nice! This is the first impact that I've ever had and I'm very happy with it. Word on the street that Bauer will release its high torque impact in February. I'd be really happy if it can perform any where near the Hercules ultra, which makes 1900 ft lb break away torque. I was eyeing Milwaukee and Dewault. Both are really good but kinda pricy for a weekend warrior like me. I'll slowly upgrade into those when the time comes, lol.

Hi Kravchan, you're probably right! I believe a lot of tools made in China looks the same and even has the same design on the inside. The only difference is probably on the material they use to make the tools and the precision of assembly. Copying tested design might not help you win in a competition but surely can give you above average performance for a fraction of the price.
@kravchan
@kravchan Жыл бұрын
@@yihuandiy6355 yeah, that's a fine approach, to get right amount of quality and to keep cost down. Chinese brands requires a some knowledge of tools and materials to pick the right one, to get this fracture of a cost and not get fooled. The more you know, the more you can get out of it. People in my place even weld their own custom batteries, with x1.5 power of branded one, but for 1/3 of its cost, like 21700 cells, two level option. Since, its the same, makita type, lock pattern, people use it on variety if tools.

How has it been holding up? I just picked it up with a 3ah battery to mainly take off lug nuts and small jobs like brakes. I'm hoping it'll last a decent time and be worth the money.

The way the impact socket was consistently jamming on the nut making it difficult to take off indicates one of two things: 1. you were using the wrong sized socket, or 2. the socket was worn too much and should be replaced.

I have a honda accord 2019 . This 20v impact wrence should be enough to take of the tire lug nuts right? I also got the Pittsburgh 1/2 torque wrence but idk what adapter I need . Any suggestion what are the adapters I need to attach to the 1/2 torque wrence ?
@yihuandiy6355
@yihuandiy6355 Жыл бұрын
According to Google, 2019 Honda accord wheel lug nuts are torqued to 80 lb/ft. This impact should take the lug nuts off like a piece of cake. I don't think you need any adapter for the lug nut. You just need a 19mm 1/2" socket. Any 1/2" socket set from HF that has a 19mm would work. There's also lug nut sockets that has rubber sleeve that protects the rim if your budget allows. The other impact in the video had a 2" impact extension so u cant compare that to a unit not using an extension. The extensions rob q significant amount of power.

As long as the extension is straight it does not "rob" any torque

What are your thoughts on Bauer's new high torque impact?
@yihuandiy6355
@yihuandiy6355 Жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, I don't think I'll get the Bauer high torque any time soon mainly because I'm not working on anything that requires a high torque impact at the moment. The torque test channel just released a review for the Bauer high torque (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rLxlpriAlc6-mJc.html), though. Based on the review, I'd say it's a great bargain for DIYers, but the quality might not hold up as good as the Hercules impact for professional setting.

Nobody uses a torque wrench on lugnuts in a shop. Every mechanic knows it's all about how many uggaduggas you tighten it that makes a difference.

Junk, bought this and it couldnt remove a 17mm lug even on level 3. Yet I was able to remove it with a normal lug wrench by hand with barely any effort. Returned it, went to Home Depot and bought a Ridgid 18V and it was able to remove all the remaining lugs without much issue.

The problem is TIRE SHOPS!!.....these idiots have Air Impacts that put 1200 Ft Lbs of torque easy......and they always Hold the trigger too long, over tightening them x100!!.......so to get them off, you need a Really High Quality cordless impact like Milwaukee or Snap-On....something that puts At Least 750lbs of Torque minimum.......or you can use a Lug bar to break them loose, then spin them off with a cheaper Impact. I've been there a Million times now.......my cheaper Kobalt impact Never breaks the lugs loose, as it only has around 400lbs of Torque..... I need to borrow my brothers Snap-On which is Much more commercial grade.
