After driving the 2018 Toyota 4Runner for the first time, my opinions on it changed. The 4Runner was more comfortable than it's rugged structure might suggest. My 2018 Toyota 4Runner Test Drive and Review covers most aspects of what I like and don't like. This model was the 2018 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium but I talk about other trims like the 2018 Toyota 4Runner Limited. It could definitely use some updating but if you're looking for a reliable and capable SUV than can actually seat 7 people, this is a serious contender in my book. I hope you enjoy this 2018 4Runner review and test drive because I sure enjoyed spending time with it!

You did a good job with a lot of things. Starting with getting the vehicle description accurate. I have watched a lot of 4Runner reviewers that don't seem to have a clue to what they are reviewing. Or don't take the time to make the titles accurate. Your impressions and attention to the details was pretty good. Your facts were almost dead on. #1, the TRD Off Road version does have the option for KDSS. Which increases your off road articulation and reduces body roll on the road ways. It is not just in the TRD PRO model. Your reference to the Limited having the auto ride adjust system balanced out the fail on that comparison however. lol Also the 4WD system on the TRD Off Road trim has A-Trac. (it was not in your text about the difference)The only other thing(s) I might add for people reading this comment is, the front end is difficult to get a feel for. Meaning, when pulling into a parking spot, you may not get a good sense how close you are to things. I have driven a LOT of vehicles, including tractor/trailer vehicles and have a very diverse experience range with things. And this particular vehicle design leaves you wondering where that front end is at. With no safety sensors or front camera, you might find yourself spending a lot of time getting in and out inching into garages, shopping parking spots or asking someone to spot for you. The back up camera takes care of any concerns and visual short comings in the rear of the vehicle adequately. And as for cleaning, you might figure it is a challenge to wash. And you are correct. With Toyota courtesy washes, you get some help. But don't expect it to be super duper or dried for you. With that lead in, what you will never expect or is talked about in these videos is, the dirt/dust/sand etc. gets in UNDER the lift gate. It won't get into the cargo area but even if you think you have washed the vehicle and the bumper looks clean, open that lift gate and you will be in for a surprise. The solution to this problem(besides having to hand wash it afterwords) is to use a blower system to 1st get rid of that before you wash. Blow down and under that lift gate and around your rear window seal. This will greatly help your vehicle detailing experience. As well if you do not opt. for the pull out tray, help keep you cleaner leaning in to get to your cargo. It is my 1st 4Runner and I bought it for the off road capabilities that surpass anything I have ever owned before. It is true however, if you are a suburbanite, or city dweller that does not need the added capabilities of a 4Runner, there are plenty of other SUV's that can carry you around for less money, better MPG on the highway(which I still say 20 mpg on the highway for this sort of rig is excellent)and softer ride(which I still say this ride is very comfortable on and off road) you can find other vehicles that will tailor to your needs and wants. I think for what it is, it is a tad over priced. Have felt that way for the Toyota products for decades. You will more than likely recover a fair amount of money back from selling outright should that day come around for you. Oh and 1 more thing, NEVER buy from Toyota of Puyallup Washington if you want a fair deal. They are lazy, greedy and will sell you the lie that what you want can only be ordered from the factory. ( and no I did not buy from them)

Bought a 2016 SR5 premium about two weeks ago. I. Love. This. Thing. It sold me on the bullet proof reliability and I love that they’re all made in the same 3 plants in Japan.

The button on the side that has a picture of a windshield wiper is not to control the back wiper. It is a heater that warms the front wipers when they are frozen. The back wiper is controlled by the knob at the end of the wiper lever.

Thank you! Very informative! I'm a proud owner of a kickin 2005 Toyota 4Runner that is still running strong after 173,000 miles, however getting ready to purchase a 2016 -2018 model. Just not sure yet. The 4Runner is a classic...much like Land Cruiser, once you are hooked you are hooked for life.

Had a 4x4 model for a rental in MN in December. Totally awesome. Handled everything with ease and very comfortable all the way around. The shortest person was 5'9' and we all fit without issues

Just bought a 2018 4Runner Premium today! Love it! It’s the 4+4. I had a 2004 SR5 4Runner and it was a great truck! Never had one single issue with it, just had over 252,000 miles and was getting old. Hope the new one is as good!

So glad to see someone doing an SR5 review rather than the TRD PRO. For most applications the SR5 4x4 is more than enough. I live in Minnesota and these things will go through the snow without issues.

I was about to skip your video and then I waited for you to say it was an sr5 premium 2wd. I wasn't sure if mine was premium or not but it's just like this one.
