This is my 2nd video on the FX Chronograph, because this is the MK2, not officially but that’s what I am calling it. The App has had massive updates, just go onto the Google Play Store or iPhone App store and download it, it works with the first FX Chronograph version and beyond, PLUS now a bracket is included, and FREE brackets are available to those who got an original FX Chronograph without a bracket.
BC Update, I have already seen people asking for a BC function, yes, its is something being worked on. You don’t get everything on a first date…..or maybe you do….but no in this case.

Just to be clear, the black box unit is the same as the original unit from March, you just need to download the new app version. Also claim your bracket if you got one of the originals. Thanks for watching. Giles

As the Caldwell is a few feet beyond the muzzle, it's probably correct to think that the pellet has lost a few fps by the time it reaches the sensor.

Having had one now for a few months and using it a lot its an excellent piece of kit. One thing that does need mentioned is barrel hanging will not give you an accurate zero and may well open up your groups a lot(alallalala harmonics strike), mine goes low by 2mil. As to which is right they are all in the ball park so who knows even 2 caldwells beside each other will give you 2 results and as for lab radar isn't that for finding the dog at night.

I have a theory having used many cronys my self. The cadwell should read slightly slower by a few fps then the fx radar do to the fx radar has taken its measurements before the traditional cadwell begins taking its measurements the very low bc of pellets means they decelerate very quickly about 2.5 fps per yard according to my last measurements. This suggests that a crony 2 to 3 feet from the mussel should read slightly slower then a crony measuring within the first foot. Also if one crony rounds up and one rounds down the spread will increase or decrease. 2 radars can also very based on at which point each crony begins tracking the projectile. I believe all the cronys were functioning properly and would have independently produced accurate and useful data to a shooter. Love your videos great job with airguns 101

Any muzzle velocity radar does not measure the pellet velocity at the muzzle. It will only begin to measure the pellet velocity when the pellet comes into the radar beam which may be close to the radar or far away depending on the distance from the muzzle to the radar unit and the aiming of the radar beam. The radar will then take the measured values of the pellet velocity and interpolate the data back to the radar, not the muzzle as it does not know where the muzzle is.

"which reading is right", by the law of averages, and taking into account the distances from the Barrel the correct reading would be 556, but **** that , you have convinced me, its the FX I will be buying. Thanks Giles.

I was lucky to get the new version with bracket and it's working nicely. But I was a bit surprised when I received it, didn't know they had upgraded it with the bracket. But I totally agree with you, cheddar are a superb cheese.😊❤

love the compact portability. Shame it only works on projectiles up to 1300fps. I'll have to keep my Caldwell for both my airguns and centrefire guns. But if they come up with one that'll go beyond 3000 fps I'll buy it.

Very informative Giles. Thanks. That darn FX chrony with barrel mount might be the first one to sway me over my upside down Caldwell G2? Had the F-1 syle...shot it. Had the combro...shot it completely off the barrel with .25 cal. Not much left.

Yes, just don't shoot the chronograph. Its bluetooth so your phone needs to be within 5m well hidden and safe.

Note you didn'tinclude the little Combro 45 Unit which attaches to the end of the barrel. This is a simple, effective and accurate unit for all airguns. If set up correctly it is as accurate as a Skan Chronograph. Usual great video, keep up the good work.

it is a brilliant unit. similar to V3 Cronos but with air rifle Fx crony is the winner I guess unit that so small you can put in your pocket!? and live up-date record to the mobile V3 you can detect from 420 FPS but not under 400 and you need micro sd card reader hm... take my money!

Hi, my son and I both want a break barrel, single shot, spring loaded. My son wants a Webley VMX with a scope, so my first question is how much should he be paying for one, with a zeroed scope. As we shoot together we can buy 1 Rifle at a time, my son has a good pistol so we could take it in turns. My question is what other single shot break barrel, with a scope fitted and setup would you be looking at. Any info with approx costs would be appreciated

Is that chrony on your barrel affecting your impact point? It should affect the harmonics of the gun. Probably, on a tripod under the gun, as in 11:58 would get the best group. Yes, it should not affect the speeds but maybe it affects shooting groups at the same time? Best Regards

Just change the readout in the profile settings, it also reads out loads of different speeds, maybe the camera did not pick it up. Thanks for watching. G
