The galaxy’s most lovable droid can now be recreated in stunning detail with this 2,315 piece set, the most feature-packed LEGO brick version of R2-D2 from the LEGO Group to date. Adult LEGO builders and Star Wars fans alike can recreate their favourite moments from the films as they craft R2-D2’s unique retractable mid-leg, rotating head and a periscope. The model also has hidden tools tucked away, such as a lightsaber hilt hidden in a secret compartment in the head.

Pro tip on the build experience, they designed it so the back of the model is red and the front is green internally. So you can use that as a reference point for the instructions, just look at which color is facing where. That helped me a lot when the instructions seemed unclear or confusing

We have the 2012 version. I can’t believe this new version has 200 extra pieces yet it looks more hollow on in inside. Do like the automatic centre leg instead of the older version with was controlled by a switch. Still on the fence about buying it.

Hi great review and yes I’m stuck on the inside mech that flips up and down on rubber bands as the step once it’s in the cage to how the brown axle goes into each side of it as the instructions aren’t very clear please help 🙏🙏🙏😢

I'm having same issue it doesn't drop out I have to pull it then it's locks in and I have to push the mechanism back a little so I can then push the leg back in

Their highest viewed videos at their current state are ones with 30 k views and it's every so often. Just 2good gets 16-30 k on every video. Mand r gets 20k - 80k on every video. They have more subscribers than both these youtubers but get less views. Their opening line descriptions are not very good and took up by Links. KZfaq uses these sentences as tags.

Was excited when I heard about R2 coming out,since I missed out on 2012 one and wanted a big brother for bb8.But would pass on this one,don't like the head,it looks totally wrong and the whole wobbliness doesn't help either.For the price they're charging for it it is a big No from me

Btw, nowhere on the box does it say Ultimate Collector's Series and the previous version was also not an UCS. It just has the UCS specific plaque.

@@emanueliosif8649 UCS is only given to highly detailed spacecrafts and vehicles. Locations get Master Builder Series and buildable characters the small plaque and the minifig counter part.

Nice set, though I would probably hide the 50 year thing, as its meaningless. Lucas didn't begin writing Star Wars until January 1973. 2027 will mark a VERY important May the 4th.

The third leg seems wobbly at first until you realize that you have to lift up R2 and lean him forward. I know you probably think you did that, but you only "half" did it in the video. Take a look at the front of the box to see the degree the "ankles" are leaning forward. I would also add that I do not believe this was as difficult as you made it out to be. The internals require a few specific items to ensure it functions properly. That's really it.

I was really looking forward to this! But I gotta say, it's a HUGE dissappointment :/ The functions are really barebones, I mean cmon the lightsaber should have been able to be launched out! the model isn't all that stable, making it seem fragile. There are no WHEELS! People want to be able to roll it around their desk and it's such a small and simple thing to do. The "minifig" is just a plain R2, they could have given it leg printing or something special at least. The plaque is still a sticker, even though Harry Potter gets those printed in 30$ sets. Worst of all; the price! 200$ or even worse 200€ for me... If you compare it with the other similar sets, like the recent D-O, Porg or the fantastic BB-8, this should have been a 130$ set. This is General Grievous Soulles One kinda bad... And it sucks because I really wanted a cool display R2 :/
