So far it is working great and it fits all my requirements. Only the IOS Sketch App could use some improvements. Thanks to you and your Video I was able to start right away after receiving. Again, big thanks.

Shame this device doesn't have the level horizontal distance built into the Disto X310. I find it is very easy to not hold a Disto horizontally, so having the device know it's level correction is really important I feel. I just need an X310 but with Bluetooth :(

Using the DISTO Sketch APP, if you export a plan to PDF, does the app nag you to pay per month to do that? When set to display feet - inches - fractions, do the fractions display correctly such as 19/32 using the most common denomitor? I have the DISTO X4 and for instance, I was measuring something and got 5' 7" 20/32. It should have read 5' 7' 5/8. I am returning the DISTO X4 solely for this reason.

As another cabinet guy, I'm looking for a unit that does two things: 1. Easy to read even in low light 1. choose fractional rounding. I do not want to have to round from 32nds to eighths or at least 1/6. Does this Leica unit do this or are you stuck on 32ds. I have too much to think about whan I'm measuring a kitchen, especially with the client hanging around me.

you think for the money the disto d2 is the best? im look into possibly getting the hilti PD5 or the bosch one thats priced similarly..

I don't think Bosch holds up in quality when in conversation with Leica and Hilti. Sadly the Hilti model misses one of my personal needs, Bluetooth transfer of dimensions to my smartphone. We've used Leica's tools for a long time now, simply put they lead the industry in LDM.

Hi! I need a laser distance meter that can transfer measurement values to excel, or google sheets, and automatically change for the next cell, so i can measure a lot without touching the laptop, or phone or tablet. Can Leica devices do that? (I don't need any other features such as area, volume, horizont etc.)

I know its old response but all the Leica Disto D2 does is transfers measurement results over bluetooth. its the receiving softwares job to process the received data. So in order to gather the measurement values into an excel table the MS excel software should support the rangefinder and should have code to process the data.

Can't help but notice the only questions replied to by author are to the persons indicating buying this devise. I just bought mine two days ago and am online seeking info to use it, and while I managed to gain some of what I needed, it's still lacking. And the constant out of focus image is unprofessional and irritating. As for the Leica D2, it is absolutely better than the bosche version I owned a few years ago, which was so inaccurate I deliberately left it behind on the last jobsite, and only regretted not saving the batteries.

Do you still have this D2? if yes, could you please check yours how the stake-out function is working? I mean when i choose the stake out function and set the preset value then push ON DIST to start measuring the bottom line on the display is not showing zero value and thus the first measurement when it reaches zero by moving Leica D2 will not match the preset value distance set, only the second and consecutive measurements will mach the multiply of the preset value. I dont know why it is not zeroed out when i start the measurement in stake out function. Hows yours? I would appreciate your response, thank you

Please set the unit on a table and pre-set the focus. Having it blur so often gets a bit frustrating. Otherwise, thanks for the vid!

Are you sure that opening is 109”. It looks barely 20”. Unless those studs are 4’ apart and the is elevation is 30’...? Is there a “pop-up” feature that helps audit mistakes ?

hold down both + and - buttons. It will change units from metric, to feet to inches and feet+inches.

On site, its sketch up will be too cumbersome for me to use. I rather draw, measure & write and its done. With this one it seems I need to take pic, play with bluetooth if its connected, draw the line , measure, check if its right, save etc. Must admit its very fancy though. Plus, bluetooth connectivity willjust kill the battery of your tablet or phone.

Bluetooth 4.0 is really energy efficient and unless you’re using a smartphone/tablet from 2008 I don’t see this “killing” your battery

WTF? Don’t hide behind a pseudonym and snipe! I bought it from Screwfix locally, why don’t you fix it or replace it. I gave up on Bosch when they outsourced their tools and the quality plummeted too...

cant use it during the day because you cannot see the Laser at all and i sleep at night so was a waste 0f 200 bux ..needs a more powerfull laser YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE.
