I'm knitting the cosy mitts in the Noro Malvinas yarn in this video, having a go with a different yarn. Ideal if you can't get hold of the knit, or are looking for a substitute.

To tell you the truth i always look for an alternative yarn. I have never used the advice 😉 but I do follow the rest of the pattern. I don't go completely rogue ❤

Wonderful! Sounds a lot like me, especially in the last few years. I've generally had to knit with a substitute yarn or make up my own pattern, as so many patterns use yarns that I just can't get hold of. Happy knitting 🧶

Hi Hannah, I'm a new subscriber, and I'd like to ask for your help with a problem I have. I haven't knitted for a long time and just recently re-started, so I decided to try some gauge samples using the sizes suggested on the yarn band. I've had some unusual results. For example: 22 stitches x 28 rows should give a 4x4 inch square - my result was 3.3 x 4 inches, i.e., I was too narrow, but the correct length. How do I remedy a problem like that? Thank you.

"Malvinas is a pure blend of 100% merino wool from La Islas Malvinas in the Falkland islands off the coast of Argentina". Hmm. I have a major problem with that title and description. They are the Falkland Islands. Many British service personnel gave their lives to ensure that they remained so called.

Hi Yvonne, I'd rather not get political in the comments here, I understand where you're coming from. All I know is that NORO makes yarn in good faith and due diligence, and is using the UN name for the island which uses both translations, 'Falkland Islands, Malvinas'.
