Nice setup! The guy that designed the unit is named Adam MacDonald- area 419 makes the trick add-ons :)

Patrick Thompson hey bud! I’m good thanks. How you been? I’m still in the RPR groups. Just not as active as before.

I'm off FB, but still doing custom RPR's for a few guys. Great review, may have to invest in one!

I like the idea for the draft shield.. Why i don't see others do that I don't know

I think it’s that you have your video camera right there. My Sartorius was screwing up and fluctuating and I finally figured out that it was my cellphone in my pocket. I removed it and it stopped doing it.

Slightapex probably. No scale likes to have a cell phone nearby.

I see the RCBS charge master lite. Considering it. Is it a waste of money for someone stating in PRS?
@DimaProk5 жыл бұрын
I know that milligrams are more accurate but grains are more familiar and .02gr resolution is just fine.

I think it would have also been pretty useful to also weigh 5-10 charges from the CM and show the variation that has. Good video.

Kyle Kuhn thanks for the suggestion. I actually did just that off camera. This video was just for showing off the autotrickler. But here is the test results for that very test. RCBS Chargemaster Lite Accuracy test results. I threw 40 charges on the chargemaster Lite and weighed them on the FX-120i to check accuracy. I set the Lite to throw 42.5 grains of H4350. The FX-120i was set to measure in grams. 2.754 grams is 42.5 grains. Surprisingly the lite threw all charges exactly at 42.5. Not a single over or under throw. On average, the Lite is +/- 3 milligrams. But on occasion it was +/- 6 milligrams giving it a 12 milligram Accuracy. 12 milligrams is 0.185 grains. I’m kinda surprised it held a ES of .185 grains. Now for the interesting part. The machine seems to throw the first 4 or 5 charges with the higher ES then settles down to +/- 3mg. I allowed the machine to rest for an hour and tested again and got similar results. So for you CM users, dump the first 5 charges back. And before you ask, I highly recommend the Lite model over the 1500 combo. Hope this info is helpful.

Joe Ambartsumyan why do you recommend the lite over the 1500? I have a 1500 and just curious.
@joeambartsumyan72596 жыл бұрын
Kyle Kuhn the Lite model is more compact, it’s 1 piece, has a built in level, the drop tube has been redesigned to not over or under throw. Scale is more stable and more accurate. Plus it’s cheaper.
@pyoungs8256 жыл бұрын
it would have been more helpful to take the charge from the lite and weigh it on the fx120i to see just how accurate the chargemasters reading of 42.5 really was. i think thats what Kyle was originally saying. Thats what i was looking for in this video as well.

That's what he said he did... ES of .185gr. Please see above.

Great video! I am interested to learn how easy or difficult it is to switch out powders? A video showing this would be pretty helpful. My concern is whether or not you have to recalibrate and rebalance everything. Thanks in advance!
@joeambartsumyan72596 жыл бұрын
Francis James it’s as easy as dumping out one powder and pouring in the other powder. No re calibration needed.

Awesome new Joe! That was my only concern. I'm taking the big $ plunge! Thanks for your videos - very helpful!

What did you cut a hole in the breeze shield?
@joeambartsumyan72596 жыл бұрын
raythemanroe a milling machine with a 4 flute endmill.
@michaelharris85415 жыл бұрын
I know you use a milling machine, but how did you get it started. I’ve tried it using a drill and milling bits due to the fact I don’t have access to a milling machine. Basically I cracked one of my breeze shields trying to drill the hole for the auto trickler.

$1k???!!! Holy cow, is it that much better then the RCBS MODEL??!!
@williamwismer82125 жыл бұрын
I'm just not sure why you're comparing a $1000 + setup to a sub $200 setup. It's like comparing apples to Ferraris. Other than that, pretty good review.
@joeambartsumyan72595 жыл бұрын
Because everybody and their mother wants to know how it compares to a chargmaster and if it’s worth the extra expense. That’s why.

Man this is a massive waste of money.
@joeambartsumyan72595 жыл бұрын
For you? Maybe. For those of us that care about reducing our ES/SD to low single digits, not so much. It’s faster than 2 chart masters running side by side while holding a 0.02grain accuracy.
@vladmirputin71395 жыл бұрын
@@joeambartsumyan7259 I get single digit ES/SD just by hand weighing them. I use powder measure to drop it and then just trickle up by hand. Just about as fast and costs much less. +-.02 grains isn't going to make much difference either. You'd be better off weighing primers and getting your ogive OAL more accurate.

Vladmir Putin I’d rather not go back to the Stone Age. Thanks though.
