I went to see Phantom Menace 25th anniversary. Walk in the door, turn on the game, um is that Pastrnak fighting Tkachuk? Where is everybody on the bench? Oh my.

Right before that fight, the camera was on Tkachuk and he had "that look" in his eye, and I saw him yell "Hey, Pasta!" I said, uh oh, they are going to fight, and literally 20 seconds later they are throwing hands. LOL on Boston getting pwned tonight.

Funny how both games whoever scored first proceeded to get stomped on thereafter.

Alright, now this is a series. Florida got bitch-smacked in Game 1 and Boston got bitch-smacked tonight; I can see that this will be a physical series. I'm absolutely here for it.

What a rollercoaster of a day for Shannon

When I watched game 1, I literally left the room after the 4th goal. That was NOT the Panthers I used to see. That wasn't the Panthers that beat the mighty Vasilevskiy. Something was different. When the Bruins scored first in this game, I honestly felt everything was lost. But hot damn, did the Panthers turn things around. WOW. Now these are the Panthers that I know and love. Onto the road now!!

Seeing the clip of Monty nodding his approuval to Pasta to go fight Tkachuk was baffling. he just let his best player get beat up for what? then you have all the fights, misconducts (12) and expulsions. Boston got their asses kicked. you can't win a series when you just want to beat your opponent with your fists.

I agree with what you said about Pasternak fighting. At the same time Pasta hadn't done anything the entire game and he wanted to step after not being a factor at all. I don't think it was a case of him being allowed to or not he wanted to show up some way.

Keys to this series, don't score the first goal. Panthers can't score on the power play when it matters. Boston gave up. That short handed goal was a joke. 2 guys back and no one else coming back. So Boston's last strategy, attempt to injure and/or get guys suspended. Marchand gets upset for a goal celebration and skates into Montour, then gets upset. Yup that's the "captain" The play on the bench, it was at least 3 elbows to the head, I was like 5 minutes, 5 minutes, 5 minutes, and nothing called. Pasta got a nice clean shot right to the face during the fight. Some of the Panthers that got into the scrums were surprising but really cool to see the young guy standing up for themselves. Barkov played like Barkov should always play. Hard and heavy. 9 hits. Ekblad didn't pass it the wrong team all night. I guess he got the memo he is on the red and white team, not the black and gold team. Line changes made a huge difference. Hopefully FL was just rusty and this wasn't the fluke game, but game 1 was. Good luck cats and keep your head on a swivel because Boston is desperate and immature. Lomberg, Gags, and Bennett still not in the line up. They like hitting too.

Tactical and strategic error by Boston to start fighting everybody at the end of this game. All that accomplished was guaranteeing that a hyper focused Panthers team will show up to play on Friday night. A massive mistake to make as an underdog. Just dumb, overly prideful, and shortsighted.

What wasn’t mentioned, and was the 100% X factor, was Maurice FINALLY returning the lines to the normal Reinhart - Barkov - Tarasenko Verhaeghe - Lundell - Tkachuk The difference between game 1 and the 1st period, and the rest of the game is night and day.

Taking off your gloves against Tkachuk to send a message is like diving into a pig pen to get the dirt off you.

Game 1 the Panthers lost pretty bad, and there was barely any fighting or saltiness from them. Game 2 Boston is getting outplayed and outworked in basically every way from the 2nd period on and what do they do? Get angry, start fighting and crying. It says a lot about how each team responds when things aren't going their way, and unfortunately for Boston, acting like that and getting physical is going to play right in to the Panthers hand. They cannot match them in that type of hockey.

I'm a born and raised in Miami Panthers fan, and I love you so much and want your teams to win. But yeah... they were kinda annoying tonight. Gonna be a hell of a series either way.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of the game review videos but this has to be one of my favorites, love the emotion

Excited to get Bennett back next game. Especially with how intense last game was we now get even more sandpaper injected into the lineup. The second line has been solid with Lundell but when Bennett and Tkachuk are playing together with their power forward style it’s just a completely different animal. Moreover, bumping Lundell down to the 3rd line center will, in my opinion, give Florida the advantage on the bottom 6 whereas I think Boston won the forward depth battle in game one and two. Lundell is also a great defensive forward which will neutralize Bostons scoring depth which gave them the advantage in game 1. I still personally think this series goes to 7 games but as it stands right now, a healthy lineup of Reinhart - Barkov - Tarasenko Verhaeghe - Bennett - Tkachuk Lostarinen - Lundell - Rodrigues Lorentz - Stenlund - Okposo Looks quite impossible to beat right now. The major difference will still be goaltending. We’ve seen that Swayman is human, and if we play defense like we did last night (Bruins held 15 shots) then all Bob needs to do is just hold them to 2, maybe 3 goals a game then we’re golden. We’ll see, One can hope. Go cats.

I felt game one was a product of each teams past week... Florida had been sitting.. Bruins playing every other day.. so FLA had to knock rust off... problem is.. Game 2, rust is gone and now the rested team is ready to go and the team that's been playing is having that busy time catch up to them... so common in these series.. I wouldn't place a bet on game 3.. could go either way.

Boston made the greasiest rat in the league their captain so I don’t think anyone should be surprised at poor behaviour from them

To THG’s point about leadership: where the head leads, the body follows. As much as I’ve been proud of Marchand for stepping up admirably into the captaincy, it had ALWAYS been Bergeron who was able to help Marchy keep his lid on; w/o him for the 1st time in his career, Marchand’s lid came completely off in game 2 & his team followed him.

I’m a Panthers fan since 94, and this year they will get sweet revenge for ‘96 against Colorado I have a feeling.

I think a bigger deal needs to be made of the constant "Too many men on the ice" penalties Boston is taking. I can clearly recall 2 of them against the leafs (although I'm thinking it was at least 3) and now one against the Panthers. So someone on the bench needs to figure that out; those are stupid, no debate penalties that just cannot happen, especially in the playoffs. And it's not like the guy jumps on a second early and someone throws the puck at the bench. Last night, the guy that needed to run off was at the damn Center Ice face-off dot. The lack of bench control is another big flag. Either the coach has lost control of his players, or his players aren't paying attention and dialed in to the game.

I didn't get to watch the game, so let's see what ha--- Oh... Oh boy.

For game 1, it looked like Fkorida was overconfident and rusty coming off of their long break, while Boston was still in game shape. I feel like that kick in the teeth was what Florida needed. They got their legs under them and are clearly the better rested and prepared team in game 2 while Boston simply looked gassed. I have a feeling Florida might run away with the series like most initially thought.

As a Panthers fan, I just want to give The Hockey Guy credit for admitting the Bruins were sore losers. I think anyone who has been around the game a long time, or who has played, would admit that. He's not a "homer" and he is more often than not on point with his analysis. I see a lot of B's fans saying their team should try to hurt other Panthers players and that's not ok. As a former player myself, albeit only at the junior level, I would NEVER advocate for hurting an opponent - that's not ok. It's sad that even Boston reporters are calling for that. A majority of the Bruins fans are really acting pathetically. Anyone who is advocating for hurting another player purposefully needs a reality check. GO CATS!!!

In watching game 1 for Florida and Colorado I said the same thing, RUST sitting and waiting for play. It cost Florida and Colorado barely got by! Then I had someone fight with me regarding this Florida series as they claimed Boston would win it! I said hold on, Boston was better last year and Florida beat them! Now this year, Boston while still good, isn't as good as last, they lost 2 pieces to retirement and Florida got better! Shake off the rust, win game 2 and eventually win the series and boom, they embarrass Boston worse in game 2 then they got embarrassed in game 1! Further, it's been my pick of Florida vs Colorado for the cup with Colorado winning!

When Marchand is one of your leaders, you're going to be sore losers. I can relate as a Capitals fan. We have Tom Wilson as one of our leaders.

Unfortunately, it's not the first time we've seen the Bruins do this, and it won't be the last. The games the Bruins lost against the Wings in the regular season featured some of these late third period antics, them having a tantrum because they didn't score on their chances and we did. The difference between my Wings and the Panther,s is Florida has perfected the art of being a very physical team that agitates and goads opponents into stupid penalties, while either avoiding taking a penalty altogether, or at worst, it's 4-on-4. The Bruins got suckered into it like none other, and it was more often called exactly the way the Panthers wanted.

I understand the "sore losers" thing on Boston's behalf, but for each scrum the B's started tonight, Florida started just as many. Also, if we're gonna focus on sore losers, let's also look at the "sore winners" on the other side who were going out of their way to taunt the Bruins on multiple goals in the third. And I'll be honest, in the playoffs I love it. I love when Gudas did it last year, I loved seeing it tonight. But if you're going to do that, you lose your right to then say "well the other team were sore losers." Everyone was disrespectful in that third. The most respectful thing was the Pasta/Tkachuk fight because they both wanted it, both invited it and were cordial about it the whole way up to dropping the gloves.
