I know this wasn’t the knees over toes guy video but I want to say that I did his program mostly to fix pain that I had, and it fixed all of my pain but didn’t really increase my vert too much. I think if you have knee pain or back pain his program will fix it and boost your vert by a couple inches but if ur going for pure vert increase go with thp or pjf

Love these vids maybe overtime athletes? (Jacob hiller) I’ve been using it for just a few weeks and it seems pretty good (not for vertical jump, but rather size/ athleticism). I use your explosive workouts as my second leg day haha. Also on a side note I sprained my ankle a week ago. Do you have any tips on how to strengthen it back for vertical jump ? It feels fine, but weak when changing direction, etc?

Because of what you said at about Core Training at ~ 10:15. Chris Barnard splits his Core Training in different phases (stabilization, rotation, integration i think). Whats your opinion on it? Would you rather train everything at once or at least every few workouts, or would you seperate core training in different phases?

You need to make review on Illia Kroshka's program. He's also professional dunker and just 5'8 but his vertical jump is insane. With his small height his head close to the rim sometimes a little bit higher, I think his vertical jump is presumably 50 inches.

Hey Nathanael, I have anterior pelvic tilt, due to which my hamstrings are insanely tight, to the point where I can't sit wih legs extended without rounding the back. This has an effect on many exercises since not only do I not get full ROM, but I just can't keep my legs straight at all and so can't do the exercise. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to improve hamstring flexibility and correct the anterior pelvic tilt in general?

Yo ur the goat for these. Also is it better to take an ice bath the day after a hard workout on a rest day or a few hours after. I never am able to take one right after so the lactic acid is already kicked in. But then if I take it a few hours after then the next day I’m still really sore, I was wondering if it would be better to take it when I actually am sore?
@NathanaelMorton
@NathanaelMorton 3 жыл бұрын
I've actually been researching and right after your workout is NOT best. Let the inflammation kick in and heal your body. I would say next day is better than 3 hours later! Both are better than directly after though.

Start every leg session with 5 minutes straight of Reverse Deadmills (). Then during your sessions you need to use less weight and SLOWLY add weight again (no more than 10lbs per week to your lifts) back to where you are now. If it hurts during or after your session, you did too much. If it doesn't hurt, then it was a proper amount of load and you can try to progressive overload with more weight next time. Same thing with jumps, or sprints, or anything you're doing to train. If it hurts then it's overloading the tendons and you need to cut back to something that doesn't hurt. If it doesn't hurt, you're good to push it further.

Hi Nate! I want to dunk a basketball and I have recently done deadlifts and squats (weight a lot) but also a little bit of plyos. I haven’t sprinted in a while but I still want to squat etc. Should I mix it up weights and plyos as much as possible.
@NathanaelMorton
@NathanaelMorton 3 жыл бұрын
G HAK You dont need a crazy variety of plyos. You could do depth jumps, sprints, squat jumps, and a couple one leg plyos and that would be fine. Do the plyos before your weights! Twice per week with at least 2 days of rest in between
@ghak8571
@ghak8571 3 жыл бұрын
Nathanael Morton what about you body weight vertical jump program. Can I do it in the same workout with weights. So let’s say I warm up and do a little bit of plyos and after that I hit weights with maybe some supersets with plyos in between. And after that, then I hit your body weight program like a finisher. Also, do you recommended to use compression pants when working out, especially on leg day and when playing basketball.

Dude why do you keep saying Vert code is only bodyweight. The Vert code elite is 12 month program and it uses weights. Vert code bodyweight is only his intro program.

Hey Nathanael would you say Band Assisted Jumps are good for increasing your vert

Assisted as in pulling you up? Not really. As in pulling you down and making it harder? Yes!

It's not a program at all. They write your program for the week every sunday. And it's periodized so it won't always have plyos. It's split in phases

Hey nathaniel, when I’m doing my eccentric slant board squats, should I go back up eccentric or fast
@NathanaelMorton
@NathanaelMorton 3 жыл бұрын
If you have knee pain go up slow. If not, go up fast! Moving fast is harder on the knees than moving slow, but eventually you're going to have to get your tendons used to moving fast, so if it doesn't hurt to go up fast start doing it!

Hey nathanael I’m 5’10 16 years old, 150 pounds bw and I recently just hit a 295 high-bar ass to grass squat and a 345 conventional deadlift. I just got to the point where I could grab rim consistently, do you think I have optimal levels of strength for vertical jump?
