This time at the Quick Speed Shop I am doing an unboxing and review of the Chicago Electric 18 ga. sheet metal shear from Harbor Freight. I was in a bind and had to cut some tin quick so I picked this unit up for $36. Let's see how it works...
Please like, share, and subscribe. I put out new videos every Wednesday and Saturday.

Thanks for doing that review...it may help a lot of people! I liked the way you went through the blade adjustment before using the tool! Smart! The performance of the tool could have been affected by the cutter being out of spec! Be safe!

You just saved me the trouble of testing one out. Thanks for the review! I'm always cutting stuff out with my grinder w/cut off wheels, something like that would be ideal for cutting out patches when doing body work. Really enjoying your channel, keep up the good work!

Seems clean. My instincts would have pointed me toward an angle grinder or maybe a jigsaw with lots of little teeth if I needed to cut different angles. Maybe I have an excuse to get another power tool. Thanks.

They use the same motor and body for a whole series of tools. It would be great if they sold different head assemblies for different jobs to be used on the one body. I guess they make more by doing it the way they do. For around the house jobs, you can't beat their oscillating tool and the many heads/blades you can get.

I need to cut corrugated galvanized roofing tin.. most shears work ok on flat metal so this didn't apply for my use..but overall good video.. you could zoom in more on what you're doing so we can see a little better.. but the sound quality and volume was great!! Thanx.

The right side of the tool at the front has flat vertical sides. I wonder if cut guides couldn't be used to make straighter cuts. I like Made in China tools. They should come with up to twelve uses and a 90-day warranty, whichever comes first.

I'm not totally clear on the blade adjustment. If you are adjusting the gap between the fixed base blade and the moving jaw blade, you can do that with the base blade adjustment only. What does the upper moving jaw adjustment control?

Not sure. Haven't adjusted it since this video was made

Thank you for the review. I can't help but wonder why not clamps and a jig for the long straight cut, masons and carpenters use that method with perfect results. Just sayin', not a criticism.

Not sure how small a circle you could cut, but in 20 or 22 ga metal I bet you could cut maybe a 3 inch circle. It's pretty maneuverable

Proper blade and a jig saw would work well too. You can set up a straight edge and get a very straight line. Or use a circular saw with metal blade. More accurate, I think,
