ahh i fully resonate with your worries and frustrations about lh. regardless of whether or not its concept is 'marketable', please know you've got support!! i for one LOVE literary leaning premises, and you'll definitely find a niche audience, i think. your passion for this project is palpable and heartwarming, so don't discount yourself just yet! 💪✨

I'm loving this in-depth look into your editing process. It just feels so raw. And I totally understand that feeling of not wanting to "resent" your work. The gap between "good" and "great" is so subtle, and it just requires so much work, work, work, and reworking, and by the end of it you're like "Do I even like this thing?" (The answer, I think, is "yes," but it can definitely feel like a "no" when you're in the midst of it all). I echo others in the comments section when I say that your passion for the project is very noticeable, and I'm looking forward to the end result.

YAY ANOTHER VLOG!! Ahh I'm really worried that I will lose interest in a book when I'm sooo far into revisions but I see the light at the end of the tunnel for you!! It must be so exciting to go on sub hehehe. I really enjoyed your conversation on literary vs genre fiction. I do think that readers expect SFF stories to start off a certain way but I'm hoping that expectation can change. It's nice to read a sci-fi or fantasy book that doesn't involve the universe ending in the immediate future :') Also omg! I'd love a tutorial on your eyeshadow eyeliner look!! You look SO good 😍

Omg i feel you cos i have this adult fantasy book im outlining but the conflicts are all mostly psychological i never thought of that as a possible tricky spot but i gotta think about that 😂

I wish you could be more concrete with the kinds of edits you're doing, not with spoilers, but just in general terms because it seems like you're struggling a bit, and a struggle like this always leads into an interesting journey through the struggle into a stronger, better book. There are a lot of lessons you learned and it would be great to share in those lessons, but with the critique being so vague it's a bit hard to extract what exactly is being changed and how you've implemented those changes. I hope this isn't asking for too much. Something to consider for future vlogs, about how to be more concrete without spoiling.

it's not something i can do without significantly spoiling things about the book unfortunately so for now, these vlogs have been focused on what i feel comfortable sharing at the moment which is the emotional journey. (i talk a lot more about craft in my craft videos and line editing videos.) as i've mentioned before, i plan on talking more about this book specifically after i go on submission, including showing how my agent's edit letters are structured, sharing my query letter, etc. for me it's not easy to open up about the intimate details of a writing project to a public audience, while i'm still drafting, but it has always been my plan to do so in the near future. my newsletters are where i'll probably update fastest. i discussed more about last draft's revision, and the things i've learned about the process, in my recent newsletter (linked in the description box).
