Honestly your comment has the pungent scent of cynicism but I'll answer anyway Any movement will stimulate muscle growth. Maybe unnoticeable but even if a little could have huge benefits down the treatment line. I'm not an expert but I do fitness training and have had to deal with knee injuries. You'll be surprised how effective proper training is.

my experience in physical training says otherwise. like i said a knee injury to deal with however i wanted to strengthen my legs by doing squats. so i did them putting all the wait and strain on one leg. from the outside it looks like I'm doing regular squats however after a month on leg was bigger than the other. what i did notice however is that the weaker knee leg did get some muscular growth just not a lot. and there was no weight on it cause if there was my knee would've acted up with furious pain.

The core muscles will be worked and (from what I've read) patients who use the rewalk find they lose their incontinence, have better bowel movement, stronger abs and backs etc so any muscles that still worked but never had a chance sitting in a chair are working now. At minimum this stops the degeneration
