Legitimately teared me up this. I used to hate her so much! The best bit is how when Syd leaves she’s just standing around smiling to herself at the bus stop and you know how happy she is internally.

It was a bloody perfect character arc if you ask me.

"Never too late to start over." You can see how Tina is terrified of Syd as the young up and comer there to push out the old guard and leave her unemployed. However, Syd completely defied Tina's expectations by offering her an opportunity to learn and evolve as a chef. I love this series and what I believe to be its main theme of growth and purpose. Every character is changing, adapting or evolving. Carm rejecting the established toxicity of the restaurant industry. Syd found her home after her business failed. Ritchie finding his true calling as a maitre D in his mid 40's. Marcus discovered a true love of patisserie. Tina developing her craft to the next level. Sugar fighting through her family trauma to become a restaurant manager. Even Ebrahim, who couldn't keep up in culinary school still found a place making the former italian beef sandwiches.

Honestly, the first half of the clip makes more sense too. Tina said she was jealous of those who were younger than her for still having that hunger for developing themselves like Sydney.

After finishing season 3, I now understand Tina’s initial behavior towards Sydney. Tina’s episode was amazing.

There's only one thing that nags me, and that's that they created a continuity error(or timeline problem or whatever). In one of the early episodes Tina says something to the effect of "I've been working here for 23 years, longer than you've been alive". That's contradicted since her episode establishes she only started working for Mikey around 5 years prior. Not a huge deal, and maybe they could excuse it as Tina was just lying in the moment to appear more experienced, but I wouldn't buy that

@@scott1561 I genuinely don't think so, she stresses she's been there since before she was born. I get that she was being defensive too and trying to little sister her, but I still think it was a mistake in the timeline.

I hated Tina when it started but i love her evolution shown here, finding such pride and happiness and friendship in learning this new thing. The only one that beats it in that way is Richie. He was the most resistant for the longest time until he spent that week at the other restaurant. It was so cool seeing him have that "oh my god, i get it" moment and find his new passion.

One of the best arcs. And become clear with her episode. Tina went from cold assassin afraid a young girl was gonna replace her and not have a lot of confidence to believing in syd, warm that she was trusting her with such responsibility

If you can afford to put up a teleportation circle, you can also afford the magic bags. Handy Haversack, Portable Hole, and the Bag of Holding. A ‘company’ controlling just a half dozen bags and two circles in important cities can open up a traveling business, allowing merchants to quickly move thousands of gold worth of merchandise for a fifth level spell slot, however much the caster values those. Or, they could open up the equivalent of an airliner, doing destination vacations for dozens of people by simply not taking the circle until the last group of people. Warlocks with a Book of Shadows, Wizards who Ritually cast, just captaining groups of people wherever they need to go… so long as they are fairly paid for their costs.

Sydney gave her a purpose and Tina felt valued and seen. Later in the series she felt like an old woman that had no drive, no purpose or even considered as a person after she was let go from her job of 15 years. Sydneys offer when the restaurant evolved gave her not just financial security but emotional security in the business and friendship. Edit: typo

2nd story. First, two hours is not enough to clean a whole house. Not to mention cooking and childcare. Second, He works from 7 to 7, 12 hours. But taking care of a home is also a full time job...one where you dont get breaks. But its fine to belittle them because they dont make money. But communication is key. Dusting is crazy. Man sounds jealous bc shes not the centering him
