This is the first expensive katana I've ever working with, so many interesting thing happen when I wrapped the handle for this blade.
I made this long version from beginning to the end, with how I did the end knots, and here is the result : My work and my Video at the same time :)

What is the name of the tool on the left, @9:18. I have scoured the net for days looking for a good tsukamaki hand clamp. I do see the clamp next to it, but I'm looking for that rounded bite tool's name. Thanks! Fantastic video! I recently did my second attempt at Tsukamaki with my home made hishigami from rice paper, on my Iaito. Feels fantastic, did a quality job, with synthetic silk. My first attempt was with cotton, and I didn't do bad there either, it's just you improve quickly once you understand a few things. when you make the first fold, you can keep a finger on top of the ito thread, to help form your triangles. (Triangles were the last thing on my mind, tight and right was forefront.) By the second try, I was ready. First fold needs actually folding before pulling tight, if you want it to look good, and for the second thread to lock in. Use a tool to tamp the hishigami and knot, and pull tight again. That's pretty much it.

On assemble, is no glue attach the blade to the other parts at all, just a small peg mafe by bamboo to hold the bled to the handle :) I just use Kusune _ a kind of glue stick, to paste glue to the string when I wrap. Kusune is made by rosin, bee wax, oil and charcoal powder
