After Frank has an odd encounter, Bert recounts an old Mid-Sodor legend…
So here’s the second installment to Sudrian Stories From Hell’s Second Volume. Really proud of this one. I wrote this one last year, and even considered making it the bonus episode for the Volume 1 compilation- until I decided I liked it too much for that. Anyway, big thanks to the cast once again for absolutely killing it, thanks again to Ryan for helping me with the script, and uh- yeah. Episode 3 drops next Friday, so stay tuned for that. That was very unexpected here. Interesting use on Victor's first livery model here to portrayed this mysterious yellow engine here. I guess we all needed a break from Proteus being used as a supernatural entity here. Also use a different yellow engine other then Duncan or Proteus or even Rheneas himself in a yellow livery. This kinda reminds me of Albert's Ghost sort of, but I guess I have that in my mind here. The ending was very unexpected. A very twisted and interesting Story here. Can't wait for the other stories you have in mind for us.

the vanishing express, the yellow engine & the whispers in the woods, they all must be connected to an even more sinister plot, just think about it give me the chills, when are you going to make a finale to explain that conventional plot.

From what I can deduce, Victor’s counterpart was speaking in incantation. The mine serves as a sort of gateway between the land of the living and the land of the dead. Perhaps this engine is a lost spirit of the underworld, stuck in limbo traveling between the two worlds and can only be put to rest unless he takes the form of another engine. As far as which religion or language, I’m torn between Mayan and Aztec.

What you have to understand is Bert is the oldest put of all of them, being built in the 1880s, whilst i don't believe he is the yellow engine, he definitely knows a lot more that what he says.

I like how the ending is left open to interpretation. Maybe Bert is Victor? I mean, would it be that far fetched to say a ghostly/demonic engine could use some black magic to Shapeshift? Maybe Bert is simply possessed ? Maybe Victor caught Bert at some point and swapped places with him? Maybe Bert is carrying on the legacy of this yellow engine? (Although, seeing as we literally saw Victor, I find that option unlikely. I think he’s definitely still out there.) Or maybe I’m completely off the mark? I love it when spooky stories don’t give you all the information, but give you just enough that you can piece together your own explanation

I think it is the ending that makes this story more creepy than the back story itself! To know that an engine that we all know and love can potentially disappear and/or maybe connected to the mysterious yellow engine that isn't Proteus. This story is more mystery than anything else and I think this is a real winner! There is a lot of new creative ideas here, the biggest one obviously being the use of Victor's pre-Sodor livery and the idea that Stanley was not the Mid-Sodor's original Number 2 but the MSR outsourcing to South America. 10/10.

Well I’m surprised that the yellow engine was similar to Victor but it does speak a different language and it sounds eerie, but I don’t think Bert would haunt anyone, because after all, he was told the stories such as Albert’s ghost, so he’s just a normal engine especially in his rebuild

That was a freaky story but good! That plot twist of Bert was awesome I was like no way! Somehow this story reminds me of a ghost story my mom told me about what my grandpa encountered when he was a little boy.

Very good! Quite spooky actually. Honestly thought it was Victor but was pleasantly surprised to find it was an original character. Nice! And very ambiguous ending too. Great stuff mate! Another TTTE horror classic

I think I must have missed some preceding stories here - don't know Victor and Proteus, so the comments are lost on me. I thought the graphics are pretty good, love Frank's facial animations in particular, and the quite 'adult' backchat between them on the shed.

This has left me scratching my head. I can't say for sure what the deal is with The Yellow Engine and what's he up to. All I know is that he's the splitting image or same model as Victor who FYI is from Cuba. But I may have a theory. My theory is that The Yellow Engine is actually from Haiti, which is right next to Cuba, and Haiti as well as other exotic countries are known for the occult tradition of....VOODOO. What I believe is that this engine was in fact experienced in the ways of voodoo arts and culture, and the mysterious chanting he was doing was an unclassified voodoo language, such as HVCL or Lucumi! As for if he's a friend or foe, I'm kinda torn. He could be just a deeply religious steam engine who often says prayers while he's doing his work to feel close to home and often goes out at night do a rite of passage or ritual, like confessing your sins or making the sign of the cross. BUT....as for why he disappeared, either he suffered a fatal accident while he was out or.....he may not even be a MORTAL BEING! So he went to mines at Marthwaite to either pray in peace or perhaps do some kind of ritual to travel someplace else! As for why Bert started chanting and went away, that's got weird written all over it! Surely Bert can't be the Yellow Engine....OR IS HE?? If THAT'S true, then the Engine must've changed his appearance to avoid suspicion and somehow learned English! But if he was a yellow engine when Frank saw him.....I dunno, some kind of voodoo spell?! O_o

Alas, poor Bert. His track record on this channel hasn't been too good, hehe. Not gonna lie, first time I saw Guard From Hell, I clicked on it expecting your average spooky Thomas story, so I was shocked when Bert DIED. I also clicked on it thinking it was a standalone story and only found out later that Sodor's Supernatural is a chronological series. Maybe someday poor Bert can finally earn a W in one of Rheneas' videos.

I knew it was part of a series and had seen all the episodes before too but, this really shocked me as I wasn't expecting that. 3rd times the charm Bert should get a W next time

Looking back, the fact that Toby was stated to have gone missing in Horror at Ulfstead should have been an indication to us that this series wasn't afraid to kill off beloved characters. Sure, Toby isn't confirmed dead, but it's reasonable to assume he is. And judging by the teasers, Rheneas will be the next engine to be killed. As much as I like Sudrian Stories From Hell, I do look forward to when Sodor's Supernatural resumes.

I just thought of a big big plot hole in the story dukes line and Berts line are different gadges so the logic of a narrow gadge engine on small gadge track doesn’t work

I dont think bert is the yellow engine. To those who watched blue mountain mystery, victor was the yellow engine, and he and Luke shared the same story. I do agree that bert is possessed by the yellow engine. And if i had to give a name for the yellow engine it would be caden.
