True talent! This is when artists wrote their own music, played their own instrument, oh and didn't need voice synthesizers. Man, music just isn't the same anymore!

Richard Marx will always be a hit until the end of this world. The guy is brutally humble yet an abled showman. When I first heard him back in the late 80s with Endless Summer Nights and Hold on the Nights followed by Right Here Waiting man I was really blown away. I wished I could have his voice. Since that time I never stopped listening to his songs. I must say even though he's such a prolific writer and has had such meteoric success as a songwriter separately from his performer career for other top artistes I tend to revered his first four albums more ,like the books of Moses. I think after the mid 90s classic pop songs had changed in sound and it didn't resonate well with me. I could listen to those earlier albums as we have a saying our country- 'tea, breakfast and dinner' without ever being bored!

How could you write hazard and not realise it was gonna be a hit. It’s a well worn tale with songwriters. Kurt Cobain had no idea that smells like teen spirit would explode. That blows my mind.

Wow I was in high school when this song was playing on the radio. I can't believe how good and modern this still sounds and of course his voice is great!

Richard sang to my daughter on stage in concert, Rockford, IL 32 years ago ? when she was 4yrs old. The local radio station called and interviewed her the next morning about being selected from the audience to receive this honor. I had a friend that worked at the station who was at the concert so he knew just who to call.

Just found out that Hold on to the Night kept Pour Some Sugar on Me from getting to number one back in the day! For this you should be commended!
