These batteries are legit. I made a 4cell battery with a balance lead, for my drone. And they actually deliver. But I got 4 batteries for $26.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate it. I was certainly impressed with these. I have done further research on these and they appear (though I can't confirm it with certainty as they have no markings) LG HG2 18650 20A 3000mAh cells but again I can't positively confirm it. All the best and thanks for watching and the kind comments.

Here is how you test the amp capacity. It does involve some math. V=IR and we know the voltage and the amps to test at. V = 3.7 I=20 so that gives you 185mOhm so a 200 will test it at 18.5A. The power will be 69W (I^2*R) so a 100W 0.2 Ohm resistor will be fine to test the battery. A battery that has 3AH can do that 18.5A for just over 9 min. So a test for one min with the resistor will not depleate the battery to too low a voltage. Hook one up and measure the temperature of the battery. If it is within operating temps, you have a battery that can do what is says it can.

in my experience all original lithium cells and packs ship 40 - 50% charged. I read a detailed study once for lithium ion batteries that said the best long term storage conditions are at 22°C 40% charged and (i think) 75% humidity.

Thanks Richard. This is interesting. The industry norm has been 18650 for quite some time now. About 4 months ago, Tesla's Gigafactory, produced its first battery cells, in a new format for lithium-ion batteries (21700). I have to wonder if this move will sway much of the market to this size? I find myself now having nearly completly moved on to 26650's. Have you found yourself moving to the bigger 26650's as well?
@richardlloydusa
@richardlloydusa 7 жыл бұрын
I buy cells for the devices I own. In the case of the 26650 I only have one device that takes them and that is this flash light kzfaq.info/get/bejne/neCoq6-VqtDRk2Q.html b They have massive storage capability but that comes at the price of size and weight. For lights I find I reach for the smaller lighter 18650 powered devices more often. Thanks.

I purchased some no name Chinese batteries at Amazon and they all put out 2600 mah. The brand name is Excellent and they state 2600 mah and I have tested that and they are true to it. So not all Chinese Cells are garbage, but you won't know unless you buy them and test them. I have sent back many Chinese batteries for a refund due to them having under 900 MAH.

I have those! Guerilla vapes in Absecon area NJ sold them to me with piece of junk vape unit, and fluid. It fell apart day returned to Florida, won’t hold charge, checking if fake. Could have bought a gallon of eliquid for less and a working unit with screws that stayed put. Where’s a reputable vendor. Charger and batteries, research chemicals, hit man for cheap, nah JK. Cool, great info. Where can I get parts for building portable power, chargers, jump starters, electronics, good cheap dc motors? Where are sodium batteries told inventing. Should do an e motorcycle or ?

@richardlloydusa

That depends on what your view of "cheap" is. I go with the best value. I find harvesting them from new laptop battery packs is a good way to get bulk 18650 cells in bulk. Here is a video on how to do it : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o5t_h9dezNmvgH0.html and here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mMlzZqdn0p2UlaM.html Thanks

Thanks!! I had 2 lap batteries and harvested 12. Six of the batteries did not have a samsung or lg logo on them, It said only 2000mAh but upon measurement and test it had 800 tops so I threw them away.. What I wanted to do was to buy unprotected Bat and add them on a decent Diy case with protection chip.. Any brand of Bat You recommend? Will it be safe for my mom or GF to use them? Will it depend on the Diy case? I kinda feel unprepared to do this... thanks again... ;)

It depends on what you mean by better. The Panasonic NCR18650B at Amazon: amzn.to/2mNgy1j have a higher storage capability 3400mAh vs 3000mAh and they are more or less the same price but if you need a higher Amperage output for vaping then the Efest 3000mAh cells (here they are at Ebay goo.gl/OHrksu ) are superior. As I said it depends on your needs. Thanks.

You need to learn the specs of batteries the NCR18650B is rated at 3400Mah Max cont' discharge of 4.87amp great for low draw items like led flashlights the Efest (LG INR18650HG2) is rated at 3000mah & max cont' discharge is 20amps its better used in High drain devices like Electric Cigarette's the Best battery i have found for Led Flashlights is the NCR18650PF it actually lasted about 20mins longer then the NCR18650B

thanks Lloyd , How is the Turnigy working out ? can you use skyrc chargemaster with it ? sent you a email still cant' get me SKYRC B6AC+ V2 to work correctly and skyrc support is worthless ;(
@richardlloydusa
@richardlloydusa 7 жыл бұрын
I had problems with the SKYRC chargemaster software it is buggy to say the least but I did figure out how to make it somewhat stable. After you install it you need to run it as administrator or it will not function well at all. I will be making a video on how to do that and the different versions. I found them here hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-accucell-6-50w-6a-balancer-charger-lihv-capable.html with the firmware for mine as well. Here are the files for your charger hobbyking.com/en_us/imax-b6ac-v2-professional-balance-charger-discharger.html go to the files tab about mid way down the page I suspect they are the same programs but they are not clearly labeled so you have to try them all until you find one that works "OK" by OK I mean it only crashes once in a while. Mine crashed when I created a new directory while trying to save the charge graphs. I now use windows file manager to create the directories and then use Chargemaster to save it in the appropriate directory. Thanks for asking as it has given me impetus to create a video on this issue. All the best

Doing some research it seems that accucell is really a re-badged skyrc module hence when you look at the screen and functions are exactly same as skyrc... Looking at videos etc online the screen and menus look like a exact copy gr33nonline.wordpress.com/2016/10/17/b6-based-chargers/
@richardlloydusa
@richardlloydusa 7 жыл бұрын
You may be right. I own a clone version of the Imax B6 which is why I bought the Turnigy because it is a legitimate charger that I know is genuine. I had people complaining that it was a clone so it was not reliable (BTW it was a good one that is properly calibrated) I may compare the B6 clone with the Turnigy in a future video (of course with the caveat that there is no guarantee that you will get a "good" clone B6). I was lucky to get one. The menus on both my chargers are similar as is the function but the Turnigy has many features that the Imax B6 does not have (like battery resistance) I found it curios that your charger and the Turnigy are using the same firmware revision # Firmware V1.13 this could of course be a coincidence but that is one heck of a coincidence. BTW my Turnigy Accucell 6 is the latest physical version which is much smaller than the original or the Imax B6. Thanks for comments and the feedback. All the best.
@crankshaft007
@crankshaft007 7 жыл бұрын
Richard Lloyd i had a clone b6 just like yours and it had issues with voltage. I sold it and made sure I purchased a true skyrc unit. And was shocked that the real b6 discharge/recharge mah rating being off by 800-1000mah. Then skyrc customer service being basically non existent. When finally posting on Facebook then skyrc telling me that the units are not accurate. ???? Normal for a true Panasonic 18650 cell to be off by 800-1000mah. But measures fine with a opus charger. When I searched online a number of people showed the Turnigy was the same as a b6. With some very minor exterior changes, menu changes. And even as you showed the skyrc charge master program works on the Turnigy??? As well warnings from people to not accidentally update the Turnigy firmware with skyrc firmware. Because options will disappear, just like your resistance option. I will have to check my b6+ because I'm sure it has resistance option and as you said takes that version number. Can't wait for a charger comparison lol. You might even want to get bigclive involved as I'm sure he would love a tear down Cheers

Word of caution, if you take a look at the top of the cell and it has 4 metal lips at the top instead of 3 like the one in the video, it oculd be a rewrap of a battery that has WAY lower amperage and/or low capacity. Stick to the big dogs like Sony, LG and Samsung. Old article talking about this issue: liionwholesale.com/blogs/reviews-and-test-results/81943684-efest-3000mah-cell-change-news-update-12-23-2015

I have 4 18650s and 20 26650s. I don't want to have to take them out and charge them. its for my off grid house. I need light when the generator is off. and there's no sun. I don't want to pull from my main battery bank. for the inverters. I have the power supply handled. but there are so many charge boards. and a lot for use with USB to charge a single cell. I'm likely only using 3 cells for most but one larger light will probably have 6. I am using 12v LEDs also what would be a good charger for recovered laptop cells. I need one at a good price. I don't want to use a bench power supply. to charge lots of cells. I would like to eventually build basically a power wall type system. great video thanks.

You forgot UltraFire. I have an UltraFire 9900mAh 18650 battery. Very powerful battery, made my flashlight so much brighter.

UltraFires are pretty sketchy man, you're also never going to get a true 9900mAh cell in 18650 form

Right on man, why have 3 batteries when this 9900mAh powerhouse is all you need :)

Hahaha that basshead is a rocket, he was chatting the same crap on one of my videos - claiming he has proved he has a 9900mAh battery. Funnily enough when I offered him $250 to send me one, if it tested like he said, he went quiet. Either troll, or sells shit fakes with ridiculous (impossible) claims himself These eFest are Samsung 30Q, bit cheeky putting 35a on there in big writing. Problem with eFest is they seem to be hit or miss, batch to batch.

Great but they are priced like name brand cells so the fact they are from china isn't very exciting.....

Unfortunately I don't have a clear reason from the manufacturer why you should not stack them. I can guess it's for safety reasons as the cells are not protected so there is no protection for over voltage, over amperage or short circuit so from a liability point of view single use is much safer than stacking the cell. Thanks.

This price is a rip off! 4-5$ per Cell is ok

Romeo Sierra if u don't mind rewrapped batteries that lie about the true ratings of the cells there trying to sell u. and if u vape buying batteries at that low of a price most likely will blow up in your face.

i have a battery question... i have this portable speaker that has a battery pack in it.. it has 2x 18650 - 1500mah 3.7v batteries... i only get 3 hours of use.. is there any way i could swap this pack out and ad a larger batterie or batteries ? i guess the total needs to be 7.4 volt space inside the unit is abundant.. so i could put if huge battery if there is an option any help or info would be greatly appreciated
