@@Clerence999, you're absolutely right, the officials have all the power to grant a foul or not, game 2 McDavid gave Hughes a high stick and no foul. Tocchet is right not to openly make any accusation, if he does ,he and the Canucks will get heavy fine from NHL.

We learned in Vancouver that cheap stick play is part of Mcdavid's game. I am surprised however at how heavy handed the so called 'refs' are toward crosschecking yet Mcdavids slashing a Vancouver's D man in the face went unpunished.

Lifetime oilers fan, been adamant that oilers will not win a cup with both 29/97. I don’t think oilers have what it takes to win this series, definitely not the next one. These Canucks are a hard working bunch…….blue collar work ethic has been winning the cup for many years now even with almighty mcdavid in the league. It will be interesting

Tochett's a breath of fresh air for Vancouver. He has a very good system adnd strives for a 200 foot game. When addressing the press, he doesn't BS them like many of his predecessors have done. He doesn't run down the opposition. He knows all the stuff going on out there goes both ways, and shrugs it off as this is what playoff hockey is. Doesn't whine about the ref's. His hardest commentary on the ref's is that it's a tough job, which is true. His support staff is also great. Adam Foote, Gonchar and Ian Clark are all excellent. And Tochett's playing experience is something he also draws on. He's been there, done that. Don't know if they're going to win anything, but he's got the franchise finally going in the right direction.

Reffing has been garbage both ways for sure, the difference is who has been dirtier with said missed calls. If we count the boarding hits as suspensions (just to give oilers something): Myers should have a suspension. Zadorov should have the suspension instead of Soucy. Ryan should be suspended, nurse should be suspended, Hyman should be suspended two separate times, Kane should be suspended a couple times in just a single game. They set a precedent and then decided to go against that precedent the second something happens to McDavid. Do I think it’s preferential treatment? Probably not. But fuck did they just make it impossible to deny it with any ground to stand on.

So a suspension and a fine for a play that didn't even hurt McDavid and was unintentional on souceys part, but probably nothing to Hyman who actually busted open zadorov with an intentional cross check to the face 1 second later ? 👏👏👏👏 whatever! What a dismissive statement. I'm sure if van loses, it'll be your rally cry. I'd argue the reffing has been terrible in every series in these playoffs. Not just this one. As an oilers fan, if van wins this series, I'll be behind them all the way. I'm a fan of hockey in general. Rick is doing an awesome job on the bench. It's good for van, good for hockey. Blame officiating all you like, but the team that executes better, and more consistent is gonna win. And right now, I'm afraid of the NYR. Because someone is gonna have to face them after they erase Carolina in the gentleman's sweep.

This is how it should of played out 1. Final horn sounds 2. Chirping who knows who said what first 3. Soucy pushed McDavid 4. McDavid swats (that's what it was) in the HOCKEY PANTS - ever wear those? They can stop a bullet 5. (new time line) Soucy laughs at McDavid points up at the scoreboard and skates away but instead 5. He comes at McD with a Vicious crosscheck while 6. 6'5" 240lb Nikita Zadorov comes flying in because we all know what a goon McDavid is and hits him from behind like the Gutless Russian that he is I think both should of been suspended and seeing how 'Nucklehead fans wanted McDavid suspended for an accidental high stick that is 100% always called a 4 minute double minor (when it is called and it should of been) - based on that those two clowns should of been suspended for the rest of the playoffs. I'm being facetious here just to show how ridiculous some 'Knucklehead fans are

Wow "The Golden Child" and his team are not only favored on paper against the Canucks by their fans and the media that Betman and the refereeing have made sure to follow the headlines instead of calling a fair and respectable game, i am literally sickened by the leagues inability to preform in non bias call making, how McDavid walked away from this game ending dust up Scott Free is far beyond comprehension to us underdogs on the Westcoast 😮

@@user-in7th5uo1m The league’s basically seeing the situation as Soucy cross-checking McD in the face, even though McD ducked at the last second. If the league lets this go, then you’d see everyone cross-checking somebody next day because one person appeared to have ‘gotten away with it’. What I will say is that Hyman should have gotten something for cross-checking Z in the face after.

I am finding this amusing. i saw alot of vanvouver fans whine and bitch when came to mcdavids high stick on hughes, and now, when mcdavid gets double crosschecked in back and in neck, the oilers fans are whiners and its all BS. this was a blatant attempt at injury. I think zadorov and soucy should be fined and suspended. but that just IMO. it wasnt just a scrum. the hip slashes were normal, but those crosschecks werent.lol.

What happened.... Such a 180 from his Vancouver Saints routine. Talked about how he hated embellishment... Only players that have embellished are on Vancouver. Complained to the refs about stars being targeted for injury. Vancouver Elbows and injures Leon in game 1, cross checks McDavid in the face. Now all of a sudden it's the playoffs and you know scrums happen.... What a loser... At least have a back bone and call out your own player and say he shouldn't have done that.
