Awesome!! I had a friend who was a blacksmith. Met him when I worked in the village at Medieval Times in Florida. He made some amazing pieces. Great respect for the craft

A Hercules knot, sometimes also called a lovers knot. Goes back centuries, so very much a classic.

A pro blacksmith did 75% of the work on one of these for me, forming the loops and interlocking the halves, all freehand using the horn of the anvil. I had to shape it for the size of my wrist (surprisingly difficult) and then finished it with coconut oil to give it a little extra. Very solid looking. Looking forward to trying it again sometime doing everything myself start to finish.

Thanks - they are easy enough to make, but the hard part is making them to fit various wrists. To help this you can use thinner material that can easily be molded to a wrist, but then the thinner materials look less hee-man.

If you forge welded the tips together , you could put a touch mark on them and make them look even cooler. New subscriber

Super - Can I order matching ear rings? Looks like a fun project Rick - Still enjoying my marking knifes and the chisel has found multiple uses due to its unique shape. Great for lifting off baseboard without any splits.

I think rounding the ends of the rods before you start might be a good idea. Do you coat these with anything once they are done?

It looks real good - tight on the wrist like that, but is it uncomfortable;e to wear?

it was comfortable for me, but I had spend the time to customize it to fit just right and grind away any sharp areas. That's the issue in making these to sell; it requires tools and willingness for the buyer to adjust the fit. So, perhaps a thinner gauge steel and some other more plyable metal.

@@RickRabjohn I have been playing around with copper and thought it would be a good design done with copper rod. Would also be easier to fit. You could patina it black to get the great look of iron.

Well - long story but no. It became impossible to make them to fit all the different wrists sizes nor could the steel be easily adjusted, so I scrapped it.

You could use the same setup to produce in sterling. Cold forging and annealing. Maybe go a little lighter gauge. They’d be adjustable, have a higher profit margin and you wouldn’t have to scrap your forms

11H5P If you wanted to make this then a couple ideas I have for finishing the ends are as follows: *Tack weld the ends and grind to your liking. *forge weld the ends *add some sort of flare to the ends (curl them, add details to the ends, etc) I hope this helps, Storm
